Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar, Odisha invites application from eligible candidates for the recruitment of 14 posts of Assistant Professor and its equivalent posts. last date for application is 24.01.2023 up to 5.00 P.M.

 

Upper age limit:

35 years as on the last date of the application for general candidates. Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ ST / W / SEBC candidates. There will be no upper age limit for OUAT employees.

Essential qualification shall be considered in respect of different posts advertised as on the last date of submission of application form.

The number of posts may be increased or decreased at the time of interview. In-service candidate shall apply through proper channel. He/ she has to submit advance copy of original application to avoid delay. He/she is required to produce ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) from his / her employer at the time of interview failing which his/her candidature will not be considered. There is a selection criteria appended to the advertisement. Applicants are advertised to read it meticulously. Applicants should be prepared to appear the written test and interview at Bhubaneswar at their own cost. The University reserves right to cancel the written test and interview or entire process of recruitment, if necessary, due to unforeseen circumstances or may not fill up the required number of posts or all posts, so advertised, without assigning any

reasons thereof.

Selection Criteria for the post of Assistant Professor / Equivalent

Essential qualification

  1. Minimum 2nd Class Bachelor’s Degree in the concerned subject (discipline*) with at least 55 % marks/ equivalent OGPA.
  1. Minimum 2nd Class Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with at least 55 % marks/equivalent OGPA.
  1. The candidate must have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) with one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences) rated journal.
  2. The candidate having Ph.D. degree in concerned subject with course work as prescribed in the UGC Regulation, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of National Eligibility Test (NET) and the candidate must have at least 02 (two) full length publication having “NAAS” rating not less than 4 on the last date of application. The candidate with Ph.D. Degree without course work will not qualify for NET exemption. The candidates registered for Ph.D. prior to 11.07.2009 shall be exempted from the NET subject to conditions that:
    • Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only.
    • Evaluation of the Ph.D. Thesis by at least two external examiners
    • Open Ph.D. viva-voce of the candidate has been conducted.
    • Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in referred journal.
    • Candidate has made at least two presentations in conference/ seminars based on his/her Ph.D. work.
    • The fulfillment of the conditions from (a) to (e) above are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor / Pro-V.C. / Dean (Academic Affairs/ Dean,  (University Instructions).
  1. A relaxation of 5 % will be provided from 55% of the Bachelor’s Degree level and the Master’s Degree level for the Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe and Persons with PWD) category candidates.
  1. Candidates, who have appeared the NET examination, can apply for the post of Assistant Professor/ Equivalent, with an undertaking to produce the NET Clearance Certificate on the date of interview.
  1.  NET / SLET/ SET should be cleared in a related subject conducted by ICAR/ UGC/CSIR/ ICMR or any other similar bodies.

Desirable qualification: Ph.D. on concerned subject.

(G) Selection of the candidate will be made basing on the total score secured out of the distribution of weigtage against each of the following criteria.

(a) Academic Records :40%(As per UGC guidelines)

b) Written Test : 30%

c) Research Publication: 10%( Best one research publication will be considered with weightage of 2

for NAAS rating 4-6,6 for rating >6-8 and 10 for rating >8)

d) Viva-Voce : 20%.

Basing on the total score secured by the candidate on the criteria a,b,c that is out of 80, four times of the advertised posts from among the top score candidates will be called for interview. The score of the interview will be added to the score secured from the total of 80 to make the ranking of the candidates.

*Discipline and subject will be taken synonymously where both should have same academic duration and are eligible for same Master degree.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS / INFORMATION

(A) FILLING THE FORM:

(1) When applying for more than one post, the candidate should submit separate application for each post with required fees deposited separately.

(2) Documentary proof in support of experience and Academic Qualifications indicated in the

application form should be attached along with the application form failing which the application shall be treated as in-complete and will be rejected.

(3) Complete name of the post and discipline for which the candidate is applying should be written clearly.

(4) The most important entries in this form are details of Academic Qualification, list of Publications, Teaching, Research and Extension Experience record. Please make sure that all the details are given in the form in which they are required.

(5) Item No. 15 deals with your publication. Please, give details of title of paper, name of author(s), name of the journal, volume and pages, NAAS rating in a separate sheet which have been published or printed. Also you may give reference of papers which have been accepted for

publication by a standard journal (Photo copy of the acceptance letter of the Chief Editor/ Editor with the manuscript should be enclosed).

(6) A recent passport size colour photograph should be pasted on the application form in the space provided for the purpose.

(B) REGARDING FEES & MODE OF PAYMENT:

The application fees shall be deposited directly through Green Channel Counter (GCC) /Internet Banking / Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) in the account number of the Comptroller, OUAT (A/C No. 10173711536, State Bank of India, OUAT Campus Branch, Bhubaneswar,

Branch Code: 03341, Indian Financial System Code (IFSC Code): No. SBIN0003341. In support of document regarding deposit, the candidate should attach dully signed photocopy of the deposit receipt. Other mode of payment for application fee shall not be considered.

(C) MAILING THE APPLICATION FORM:

(2) The application form should be sent under Speed Post / Registered Post.

(D) NOTICE:

(a) The furnishing of false information or suppression of any factual information in the application would be a dis-qualification and candidate will not be considered for employment under this

University. Any such false information comes to the notice of the Authority at any time during service period of person, his service would be liable to be terminated.

(b) No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection/ test/ interview/ appointment. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
