The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) is a state-level examination conducted for candidates wishing to teach school students as primary or secondary school teachers in the government schools of Odisha. What is the OTET Exam?
The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) is a teacher eligibility test conducted and organized by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha. The test serves as eligibility for candidates who apply for teacher recruitment drives for Classes I-VIII in various Government, Private, and Private unaided schools.
Once the candidate qualifies for the OTET Exam, he/she will receive an OTET Eligibility certificate by BSE. OTET 2022 Eligibility Criteria:-
It is important to check the eligibility before applying for the OTET Exam. Here, we have provided complete details about the OTET Eligibility criteria. The candidates must have the prescribed educational qualifications and must fulfil the criteria to apply for the OTET Exam.
OTET Eligibility: Paper-I (Primary Level Teachers for Classes I-V):-
Candidates who fulfil any one of the criteria mentioned below are eligible to write OTET Paper-I (for Primary Class I-V).
- A minimum aggregate of 50% in 10+2 Exams (45% for Reserved category) and a 2-year Diploma in elementary education (in accordance with CT or DElEd).
- A minimum aggregate of 45% in 10+2 Exams(40% for Reserved category) and a 2-year Diploma in elementary education (in accordance with NCTE).
- A minimum aggregate of 50% in 10+2 (45% for Reserved category) and a 4-year Diploma in BElEd.
- A minimum aggregate of 50% in 10+2 Exams (45% for Reserved category) and a 2-year Diploma in Special Education.
- Candidates should have cleared their graduation in any stream or field and possess a 2-year Diploma in Special Education/ Elementary education.
OTET Eligibility: Paper-II (Secondary Level Teachers for Classes VI-VIII):-
Candidates who fulfil any one of the following criteria mentioned below are eligible to write OTET Paper-II (for Secondary level-Class VI-VIII):
- A minimum aggregate of 50% in 10+2 Exams (45% for Reserved category) and a 1-year course in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
- A minimum aggregate of 45% in 10+2 Exams(40% for Reserved category) and a 1-year course in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha releases a notification on the official website regarding the conduction of the exam, eligibility criteria, and other details. How to Apply for OTET 2022?
The steps to apply for the OTET 2022 are provided below.
- Visit the official website of BSE at http://www.bseodisha.ac.in/.
- Click on Online Application for OTET 2022 and then ‘Click here for New Registration’.
- Provide the necessary details such as name, mobile number, and email id to register on the exam portal.
- The candidates can later log in using the credentials and complete the payment procedure State Bank of India Net Banking/Credit/Debit card or SBI Challan (if offline.
- After the payment, the candidate must wait for 12 hours to fill the application form. They must provide their details such as personal information, educational qualifications and upload necessary documents in the link provided.
- Once the application is filled, candidates must review the form and complete the declaration by clicking on ‘Submit’.

- Scanned copies of Photograph (File size: 5kb-100kb) and Signature (File size:5-50kb) which are in JPG/JPEG format.

OTET 2022 Application Fees:-
Once a candidate acquires their credentials on the exam portal, a verification mail will be sent to the registered users. Upon clicking ‘Verify’ it redirects the candidates to the payment page which must be completed through State Bank of India Net Banking/Credit/Debit card or SBI Challan (if offline). OTET 2022 Admit Card:-
For the candidates who have completed the registrations and filled the application form along with the fees, admit cards will be released by the BSE. The OTET Admit Card will be available in December 2022 tentatively on the official website of BSE.
How to Download OTET 2022 Admit Card?

- Login using your credentials i.e. registration number and date of birth/ password.
- View and download the admit card for your OTET 2022 Exam, and take a printout for future use.
The candidate must review and check for the following details on their admit cards like Name, Photograph, Signature, Category, Exam date, and venue. In case of discrepancies, the candidate has to contact the concerned authorities immediately. It is mandatory for the candidate to carry the admit card to their exam centre.
OTET 2022 Exam Centres:-
The examination centres for OTET 2022 will be provided in the Admit cards once the candidate has completed the application procedure successfully. The candidate must note that change in the examination centre is not permissible once the forms are submitted and hence must fill the application forms carefully. - Paper-I consists of 150 objective multiple-choice questions.

- The paper-II pattern is almost similar to that of Paper-I, consisting of 150 multiple choice questions for a duration of 150 minutes.
- Each question carries 1 mark and there is no negative marking.

OTET 2022 Results:-
After the candidate completes the exam, results will be declared after a certain period of time on the official website of BSE. The OTET results will be announced in February 2022 tentatively. The computerized mark sheet will contain the details such as the candidate’s name, category, gender, registration number, section-wise marks, and qualifying status. The candidates who qualify for the exam will be provided with the OTET Certificate which serves as eligibility for teacher recruitment drives. This certificate stands valid for a lifetime.

OTET 2022 Expected Cut-offs:-
The candidate must get the minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by BSE to acquire the OTET Certificate. The expected cut-off is applicable for both Paper-I and Paper-II. The passing percentage depends on the Category to which the student belongs and is provided in the table below.

- The candidate must acquire a minimum of 60% of marks (for General students) and 50% (for SC/ST/SEBC students) to qualify for the examinations.
