Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute is an autonomous institution Of the Government of Puducherry. Applications are invited for the posts of Professors, Associate Professors & Assistant Professors on Contract Basis from the Indian Nationals fulfilling the MCI regulations of Minimum qualification for teachers in Medical Institutions, (Amendment) Regulations. 2010, as given below

Assistant Professor1350A postgraduate qualification, viz., MD / MS in the Concerned subject and as per the TEQ Regulations of the MCI. A super specialty post graduate Qualification in DM/ in the concerned subject and as per the TEQ Regulation.  3 Years Junior Resident in a recognized medical College in the concerned subject and one year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognized medical CollegeRs.90,000/ – per month  


  1. Selected Candidates will have to join immediately.
  2. Institute has the right to either to fill up the post or cancel the Notification. Application Fees once paid is not refundable.
  3. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates called for Interview based on the qualification and other parameters.
  4. Candidates will be considered for appointment. Only if they have not presented themselves for the MCI Inspection for the academic year 2020-21 (from 01.08.2020).
  5. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The contract period may be fixed as 5 (Five) years and renewable, based on their performance.
  6. The contract employees may be granted 5% increase based on their performance.
  7. Canvassing in any form will be considered as a disqualification. 
  8. Any dispute arising will be under the legal jurisdiction of Puducherry.

The application in the prescribed format can be downloaded in the Institute website {}. The duly filled in application should be submitted to the Director, Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Puducherry on or before 5.00 p.m. on 20.01.2021 along with a D.D. for Rs. 500/- (Rs.250/- for SC / ST) drawn in favour of “Perunthalaivar Kamaraj Medical College Society” payable at Puducherry and other documents as specified in the application format. Age will ‘be reckoned as on the last date of receipt of applications. The short listed candidates would only be called for an Interview at Puducherry.
