Eligibility Criteria: (Education qualification) For Principal, the educational qualification should be Ph.D. in relevant discipline (Polymer/Plastics/Manufacturing/Material Science etc.) with first class or equivalent in full time BE/B.Tech and ME/M.Tech level from a recognized University.

i) In addition, the candidate should be eminent person in the field.

ii) At least two successful Ph.D. guided as supervisor/Co-Supervisor and minimum 08 research publications in SCI journals / UGC/AICTE approved list of journals.

iii) Post Ph.D. publications and guiding more Ph.D. students is highly desirable.

B. Eligibility Criteria: (Experience)

i) Minimum 10 years experience in Teaching/Research/Industry out of which at least 03 years shall be at the level of Professor. OR

ii) Minimum 13 years experience in teaching and/or Research and/or Industry out of which at least 05 years shall be at the level of Associate Professor. OR

iii) In case of research experience, good academic record and books / research paper publications / IPR / patents record shall be required as deemed fit by the expert members of Selection Committee. OR

iv) If the experience in industry is considered, the same shall be at managerial level equivalent to Professor level with active participation record in devising / designing developing, planning, executing, analyzing, quality control, innovating, training, technical books / research paper publications / IPR / patents etc. as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection committee. Flair for Management and Leadership is essential.

C. Job/Responsibility of Principal: Subject to the general control of the Principal shall be responsible for:-

  1. Ensuring modalities & processes for compliance of regulation and statutory provisions of affiliating university, AICTE and other Competent Authorities / Accrediting bodies.
  2. Developing, implementing and delivering the strategic growth plan for the Institute, in collaboration with the affiliating universities, AICTE and other Competent Authorities/Accrediting bodies.
  3. Providing strong, effective & dynamic leadership and fair administration to create a harmonious and supportive environment among faculty, Academic staff, researchers and students. · Enforcing all possible measures for prevention of ragging in the premises of the Institute and act in accordance with AICTE/UGC guidelines and other legal provisions.
  4. Developing and maintaining links and interface with industry for collaborative projects and creating opportunities for students placement.
  5. Creating and embedding structures and processes that facilitate the faculty as well as govt. & private organizations to work together for effective utilization of available resources and infrastructure of the institute.
  6. Encouraging effective collaboration with neighboring institutes for closer academic cooperation in the areas relevant to Polymer Science Engineering/Plastics Science Engineering/Technology and Manufacturing Engineering/Technology.
  7. Identifying opportunities for multi-disciplinary and national level collaboration and submitting report and recommendations to the Competent Authority.
  8. Developing and maintaining links with Universities, Research centers, Government Bodies, NGOs and other organization working in the domain in consultation with and on approval of the Competent Authority.
  9. Identifying and securing external funding for research and Training from a mix of public and private sources in consultation with and on approval of the Competent Authority.
  10. Encouraging research initiatives within the academic framework of the Institute.
  11. Developing and implementing measures to strengthen academic skills and competency of the students.
  12. Advising faculty, academic staff and students to achieve academic goals set for them.
  13. Facilitating students access to participate in workshops, seminars and conferences and counseling therefore, with prior approval of the Centre Head.
  14. Coordinating the efforts of faculty, academic staff, and other service providers towards the activities of the Institute.

Rules and Regulations:-

  1. No application fee is to be paid by the candidate
  2. Reservation and Relaxation for SC /ST/OBC-NCL /Ex-Servicemen /Persons with disabilities (PWD) is applicable as per Central Govt. Orders and CIPET Rules
  3. Application should be submitted only in the prescribed format which can be downloaded from the Institute’s website www.cipet.qov.in
  4. Candidates are required to possess a valid Email ID, which is to be entered in the application form so that intimation regarding call letters for Written Test with Skill/Practical Test and/or Interview as applicable may be sent through email.
  5. Your period of engagement with the Institute will be for a period of three years, renewable on yearly basis in writing, purely on the basis of your fitness for the post / performance and the need of the Institute
  6. Your services may be terminated at any point of time during the contract period, for any reason whatsoever, after giving one month notice by the Institute or one month salary in lieu of notice to you. Similarly you can leave the Institute at any time during the contract period by giving one month notice or by paying one month salary in lieu thereof, and also after proper handing over of all the relevant documents, equipments, work etc. to the specified person as directed by the Institute. On completion of three years contract period, your engagement with the Institute will come to end and you will be relieved automatically even otherwise no order to that effect is issued.
  7. This engagement will not confer any right or entitlement for claiming absorption against any Regular vacancies arising for the post held by you or otherwise.
  8. The Candidates should clearly mention “Advertisement No. with date”, “Name of the post applied for” and “Name of the Centre applied for” on top of the envelope
  9. The crucial date for determining the age limit, experience and all related matters shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates
  10. Incomplete applications or applications not in the prescribed format or applications without requisite enclosures are liable to be rejected. Unsigned applications, applications which are ineligible for certain posts, applications that are not properly super scribed on top of envelopes as instructed in the advertisement etc, are prima-facie liable to be rejected by the Institute
  11. Candidates with higher qualification are also eligible to apply.
  12. Canvassing in any form and or bringing in any influence by political or otherwise will be treated as a disqualification for the post applied for.
  13. Relaxation in eligibility criteria may be considered in case of candidates having outstanding credentials and proven ability subject to such recommendation in the deliberation of the screening committee.
  14. Depending upon the qualification and experience, higher / lower salary may be offered in deserving cases.
  15. The Institute reserves the right to screen and call only  candidates who are found suitable by the Screening Committee. Mere fulfilling of the norms will not automatically entitle a candidate to be called for Written Test with Skill/Practical  Test and/or Interview as applicable The Institute / Screening Committee at its own discretion may also fix new criteria / bench mark in respect of qualification, experience etc. for screening candidates to be called for Written Test with Skill/Practical Test and/or Interview as applicable. Personal, Academic, Professional and all other details of candidates, basis for shortlisting. bench mark/report by the Screening Committee, all reports of the Selection Committee and each and every information in respect of there cruitment and selection process shaTT be maintained instruct  confidentiality and will not be revealed to anyone whatsoever.
  16. CIPET reserves the right to cancel the advisement and / or the selection process there under without assigning any reason
  17. No correspondence will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delays, conduct and result of Written Test with Skill/Practical Test and/or interview as applicable and reasons for not being called for Written Test with Skill/Practical Test and/or Interview as applicable and reasons for not being selected in the Written Test with Skills /Practical Test and/or Interview as applicable. No correspondence shall be entenained from unsuccessful candidates. CIPET shall not be responsible for any loss of email/communication letter sent. due to invalid / wrong email id / wrong postal address / postal delays / loss in transit / technical problem in email etc. No communication/request in this regard shall be entertained
  18. In the case of OBC candidates with non-creamy layer status. tne community certificates must have been issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format as shown below, during the last three years from the date of the advertisement and not at an earlier date. Any OBC community certificate issued on a date otherwise as aforesaid, shall be treated as invalid and such candidates shall not be eligible for the relaxation in the upper age limit by three years OBC candidates with non-creamy layer status only. shall be eligible for relaxation in the upper age limit as per Govt. of India Rules, OBC cert*icate produced by candidates should clearly indicate that they do not belong to creamy layer

Instructions to the candidates:-

  1. Age should not exceed 60 years on last date of submission of application
  2. Appointment will be on contract basis initially for a period of 01 years with a possibility of renewal upto 03 years based on performance and requirement. 3. Documents enclosed with the application form may securely be tagged to avoid loss in handling and photograph must be properly affixed
  3. Candidates in employment must send their applications completed in all respect through proper channel by Speed post/Registered post/authorized courier. Institute will not be responsible for any postal delay/loss in transit of application. Application received after due date and not through proper channel will be rejected.
  4. Mere fulfillment of minimum qualification and experience requirement for the post does not entitle the candidate to be called for interview/selection. A short listing criterion may be set higher than the minimum.
  5. Any misleading or wrong Information supplied may lead to summarily rejection of application/appointment, if found subsequently.
  6. Canvassing in any form by or on behalf of a candidate will be disqualified.
  7. Application on plain paper or received after the last date or with incomplete information/supporting documents will not be considered.
  8. No interim quarries regarding interview/selection will be entertained.
  9. Additional sheet may be attached in the same format wherever the space allocated is felt to be insufficient.
  10. Interview calls to candidates will be issued through their Email ID.
  11. Candidates called for Interview will have to produce all the documents in original with one set of self attested copies otherwise he/she may not be permitted to attend the interview.
  12. Candidates will be provided 2nd AC fare of shortest route of train for attending interview at CIPET:IPT, Raipur.
  13. All certificates/degree should be AICTE approved from recognized universities/Institutions.
  14. Exceptionally qualified and experienced candidate may be granted higher scales +perks on the recommendation of selection committee.
  15. Decision on the recommendation of selection committee shall be final, no appeal or correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.
  16. In case AICTE/UGC revises qualifications, experience, etc. in due course, same will be applicable.
  17. The selected candidate shall make his/her own arrangements for getting his/her relieve from the parent Institution/organization.
  18. Selected candidate shall join duty within the time prescribed in his/her appointment letter. No extension in time of joining will be allowed under any circumstance, Failure to join duty within stipulated date will result as cancellation of the selection automatically.
  19. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the essential qualifications, experience, and other requirements prescribed for the post. It is for the candidate themselves to ensure that they satisfy the prescribed requirements.
  20. Candidates should continuously surf the Institute website for any update/modifications, corrigendum, etc. No communication will be entertained with any candidate.
  21. The management reserves right to cancel the recruitment procedure to any or all posts without any prior and without assigning any reason thereof.
  22. Candidate may be asked to make a brief power point presentation at the time of interview.
  23. Application incomplete in any respect and not accompanied by relevant. Certificate/document/photograph will be summarily rejected.
  24. All qualifications, experience will be considered as on the last date of submission of application form.
