Indian Institute of Technology IIT Bhubaneswar Recruitment 2023 has published a notification for the 63 Faculty positions. To be eligible to apply for these posts, candidates must have completed their Post Graduation. Interested and eligible candidates are required to submit their applications from 28/12/2022 to 31/01/2023.

Ph.D. with first class or equivalent in the preceding degree in appropriate branch, with a consistently very good academic record and evidence of ability to pursue independent high quality research. University toppers at Bachelors and Masters Level are encouraged to apply.

EXPERIENCE

Professor:

A minimum of 10 years post-Ph. D teaching/research/industrial/professional experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such Indian or foreign institutions of comparable standards. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in research in a specific area of specialization in terms of guidance of Masters and Ph.D. students, strong record of sponsored research, publications in reputed journals and referred conferences, patents, laboratory/course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities.

Associate Professor:

At least 6 years post-Ph. D teaching/research/industrial/professional experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such Indian or foreign institutions of comparable standards OR Senior Scientific Officer/Senior Design Engineer in a research organization or industrial enterprise. The candidate should have demonstrated capability and adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of Masters and Ph.D. students, sponsored research, publications in reputed journals and referred conferences, patents, laboratory/course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities.

Assistant Professor Grade-I:

Eligible candidates with at least 3 years post-Ph. D teaching/research/industrial/professional experience preferably in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such Indian or foreign institutions of comparable standards (excluding the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D), may be considered for the position of Assistant Professor Grade-I. Candidates should be highly motivated towards teaching and research and should have demonstrated research capabilities in terms of publications in reputed journals and referred conferences.

Assistant Professor Grade-II:

Eligible candidates with less than 3 years of relevant post-Ph. D experience (as described for Assistant Professor Grade-I), may be considered for the position of Assistant Professor Grade-II* with appropriate starting pay. Once selected in this position, the candidate will be considered for the post of Assistant Professor Grade-I upon gaining the required experience.

General Instructions:

  1. Applicants desiring to apply for more than one School should submit separate application for each School. Candidates will not require to register multiple times at the portal to apply for multiple positions. Applicants who have not been considered earlier against the old advertisements need to apply afresh.
  2. For the post of Assistant Professor, the candidates should be preferably below 35 years of Age.
  3. Experience and age limit will be reckoned as on last date of online submission of online application form.
  4. Mere fulfilling eligibility criteria will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for interview.
  5. Minimum requirement of experience may be relaxed in respect of outstanding candidates.
  6. Degrees obtained by the candidate should have been awarded by a recognized University/ Institute. All Educational qualification certificates including the Date of Ph.D. Defense must be submitted/uploaded. All Experience certificates mentioning designation, pay and tenure must be duly signed and sealed by the employer.
  7. Political and security clearance from Ministries of External Affairs and Home Affairs is necessary in every case for individuals with foreign passports.
  8. The Institute reserves the right to call for interview only those candidates shortlisted based on their qualification, experience, research, publication records and requirements of individual academic departments, centres and school.
  9. The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill positions in any of the above/and or any other specialization(s)/Department(s). The Institute has the right to set different as well as higher norms, while short-listing, considering the specific requirement of the departments. Based on the shortlisting criteria, applications will be processed. Only the shortlisted applicants will be contacted through the emails provided by them in the application form.
  10. Applicants, called for interview, will be reimbursed to and fro air fare by economy class or II AC rail fare, from the nearest city of their residence in India by the shortest route. The ticket for air travel are required to be purchased ONLY from any of the three authorized travel agents viz IRCTC, M/s Balmer Lawrie, M/s Ashoka Tours, and Travels (via website/ booking counters/office), in line with GOI instructions. Booking done from any other mode will not be admissible for claim.
  11. Applicants from abroad will, generally, be interviewed through video conferencing and no reimbursement for such applicants will be made. Applicants from abroad, but in India at time of Selection committee meeting, must attend the interview in person, if called.
  12. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from applicants regarding conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview or selection.
  13. Applicants who are employed in Government, Semi-Government, Autonomous Body or Institution should send their applications through proper channel. Else, they will be required to produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of interview.
  14. Applicant is solely responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the application. If found later, that any information given in the application is incorrect/false, the candidature/appointment is liable to be cancelled/terminated.
  15. IIT Bhubaneswar encourages participation of women in teaching and research. Hence women applicants are encouraged to apply for these positions.
  16. Most of the day to day facilities are available on the Campus including bank, a small shopping Centre, Kendriya Vidyalaya School (up to 8th standard) for children, medical unit, sports facilities and vast playground for field games.

  18. The Institute reserves the right to call only the requisite number of candidates for interview after short listing in terms of the Schools’ requirement, candidates’ qualification, suitability, experience and the status of decisions about the candidate in earlier selections.
  19. The Institute reserves the right to fill or not fill any or all of the advertised posts as it may deem fit.
  20. Depending on requirement, interview may be conducted in select specializations only. However, exceptionally meritorious candidates in any area of specialization pertaining to the said specialization will also be considered.

  24. Reservation and Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/ EWS applicants. Reservation and relaxation are applicable as per GOI rules for SC, ST, OBC and PWD applicants. The benefit of reservation under Economically Weaker Section (EWS) can be availed upon production of an Income and Asset Certificate issued by authorized officials in prescribed format as per GOI norms. Candidates should submit their valid SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ Disability Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format along with the application form in support of their claim.
  25. The application must be complete with full details of educational qualifications including year of obtaining Ph.D., date of defense and details as required in the online application portal providing a list of publications (with reprints of the best papers), teaching/ research/industrial experience, date of birth along with the names and contact details of at least three referees.
  26. The opening date for online application is 28/12/2022 and the last date for online application is 31/01/2023 till 5.00 PM (IST).
