Qualification:-

The Essential Minimum Academic Qualifications for Posts of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor are PhD in respective discipline and shall have First Class (at least 6.5 CGPA on a scale of 10 or equivalent or 60% aggregate) in the preceding Degrees. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS & INFORMATION

1. Applications are invited in the prescribed format for the recruitment of faculty in various Departments of the Institute against the advertisement (Advt. No. NITPY/01/2021/T- /17022021). Detailed educational qualifications, experience and other criteria for selection shall be as per the MoE notifications. Details are available on the website of the institute: https://www.nitpy.ac.in

2. Candidates need to fill the application and send the application by Registered / Speed along with self-attested certificates/ documents with Photograph and signature of the same, to The Registrar(i/c), NIT Puducherry – 609 609 by super scribing the name of the post and Department on the envelope.

3. Soft copy of the application in both word and PDF format should be emailed to the email ID: pa-registrar@nitpy.ac.in

4. Non-refundable application fee of Rs.1000/- for General, OBC and EWS candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC / ST candidates should be paid online through the SB Collect portal https://www.onlinesbi.com/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm. The selfattested copy of the payment proof to be attached along with the application failing which the application will be rejected.

5. Mere fulfillment of minimum qualifications and experience does not entitle any candidate to receive call letter for selection.

6. To limit applicants to a reasonable number, the Institute has the right to set higher norms for scrutiny than minimum prescribed for the post. The areas of specialization and the post/level applied for will also be taken into account while shortlisting, giving due consideration to the specific requirements of the individual Departments. Hence different Departments may have different short-listing criteria which may vary for different posts within the same Department. MoE guidelines received from time to time for this purpose will be followed.

7. The decision of the Institute related to all matters pertaining to the recruitment shall be final and binding on the applicants.

8. Preference will be given for the candidates those who have completed their UG/PG/Ph.D in CFIs.

9. Post-Doctoral experience in CFIs / Institutes of repute in abroad with QS rankings upto 500 will be considered for the purpose of experience and credit points.

10. Selection will be done in two phases. In the first phase the shortlisted candidates are required to appear for seminar in the area of their specialization in the respective department. The second phase involves interview by the Selection Board.

11. The list of shortlisted candidates for selection process will be displayed on the website of the Institute. Candidates are advised to visit the website https://www.nitpy.ac.in regularly. No separate call letters will be sent.

12. The persons with disability (PWD) with 40% and above shall be required to produce medical certificate in the prescribed form issued by the competent medical authorities for the purpose of consideration under PWD.

13. Reservation policy for faculty positions will be applicable as per the directives of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

14. The candidate is responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the application. If it is found, at a later date, that any information given in the application is incorrect / false, the candidate is liable for criminal action.

15. Candidates working as Engineers/ Scientists in Research or Industrial organizations meeting all the eligibility conditions can also apply. They need to provide the proof of their credentials certified through a competent authority.

16. To avoid in-breeding, candidates who have obtained the Ph.D from NIT Puducherry will not be considered for recruitment, unless there is a three years of outside experience after leaving the Institute. However, this is not applicable to candidates who are already members of the regular faculty and have obtained Ph.D. from the Institute.

17. Institute reserves the right to modify/defer or cancel the advertisement/ recruitment at any stage of processing without assigning any reasons. General Instructions:

18. All applications received by the Institute shall be scrutinized and incomplete applications will be out-rightly rejected.

19. Candidate not eligible for the post he/she applied for will not be considered.

20. Separate application must be submitted for each cadre/grade along with prescribed fee. Application received incomplete in any manner will be summarily rejected without any further correspondence.

21. If a candidate is applying for more than one post, separate application forms along with application fee are to be submitted for each post separately and should be sent by separate envelopes for each post failing which the application will be rejected.

22. The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of submitted information, other documents and photograph.

23. The candidates seeking benefit of reservation under OBC category should produce the OBC–NCL certificate issued on or after 01.04.2020 from the concerned authority as per the format prescribed for Central Government only (format attached), failing which the candidate will be considered only under Unreserved category.

24. The candidates seeking benefit of reservation under EWS category should produce an Income and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority on or after 01.04.2020 failing which, the candidate will be considered only under UR category.

25. The candidates under SC/ST category should produce the SC/ST certificate issued from the concerned authority

26. Candidates employed in Govt./Semi Govt./ any Organization should send their application through proper channel. In case, the original application routed through proper channel is likely to be delayed then an advance application complete in all aspects may be sent. However, original application with proper forwarding should reach the Institute on or before 26-03-2021 5.00 PM.

27. The decision of the selection Committee will be final in the matter of selection.

28. No TA/DA will be paid for attending all the stages of the Selection process.

29. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification of the candidate.

30. Screening Committee reserves the right to call or not to call candidates for selection process.

31. The decision of the Institute will be final and binding on all the applicants who respond to this advertisement. No interim communication on the status of application will be entertained under any circumstances.

32. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from the candidates regarding postal delays, conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview or selection.
