The Senior Professor will be responsible for research and other scientific activities. He/she is expected to take on major programs that address issues of public health importance in India. Qualifications & Experience:-
- For Direct Recruitment:
- Essential: MD (or equivalent) OR PhD with basic degree as MBBS / BDS / BVSc with at least fourteen years’ of R & D experience with original work as evidenced by publications and inventions introduced into clinical practice and policy.
- Desirable: Individuals with multi-disciplinary expertise and leadership background will be preferred.
- For Deputation Scientists of the Central Govt. / State Govt. / Universities / Public Sector Undertakings or Govt. funded research organizations / institutes subject to fulfilment of the following conditions:- (a) Possessing the qualifications prescribed for direct recruits (b) (i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or, (ii) With two years’ regular service in the Level 13A of pay matrix in the relevant field

- Essential: MD (or equivalent) OR PhD in Life Sciences/ Chemical Sciences / Engineering with at least fourteen years’ of R & D experience with original work as evidenced by publications, patents and inventions.
- Desirable: Individuals with multi-disciplinary expertise and leadership background will be preferred.
- For Deputation Scientists of the Central Govt. / State Govt. / Universities / Public Sector Undertakings or Govt. funded research organizations / institutes subject to fulfilment of the following conditions:- (a) Possessing the qualifications prescribed for direct recruits (b) (i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or, (ii) With two years’ regular service in the Level 13A of pay matrix in the relevant field
Compensation:-
- In addition to the usual pay & allowances as admissible, the selected incumbent will be entitled to other benefits such as a semi–furnished on-campus housing (in lieu of HRA), medical reimbursement, telephone expenses reimbursement, newspaper allowance, children education allowance, Leave Travel Concession, New Pension Scheme contribution, transport allowance etc. as per the Government of India rules.

- The incumbent will mentor other faculty members / scientists / post-doctoral fellows / Ph.D. students.
- The incumbent will be encouraged to generate extramural funding from various Government and non-government funding agencies.

- The incumbent will be permitted to undertake consultancy services on behalf of the institute and retain a percentage of the consultancy fees as per the Bye-laws of the institute.
