JKSET is a state-level examination conducted by the University Of Kashmir. The full form of JKSET is the Jammu and Kashmir State Eligibility Test. The concept of the SET or State Eligibility Test was introduced back in 1990 when it seemed that an eligibility test at the national level may not represent the regional subject properly, the way it is.
In addition, it was felt that the candidates are more comfortable in learning & writing in their regional language and that is the reason behind conducting the State Eligibility Test (SET).
What is JKSET?
The JKSET is conducted every year by the University of Kashmir for all the candidates interested to work as assistant professors and Junior research fellows within the various institutes and schools of the state, namely Jammu and Kashmir.
The State Eligibility Test or SET is based on the pattern of the National Eligibility Test (NET), which is conducted by the University Grant Commission (UGC) and UGC/CSIR for Humanities, Social Sciences, and Sciences subjects respectively. Being a state-level test, SET is conducted in both the languages English and vernacular.
Every year, thousands of students register for the State Eligibility Test through an application form available on the JKSET official website
