IIIT Pune Recruitment – Assistant Professor Grade I Vacancy

IIIT Pune announced Job notification to hire candidates who completed M.Phil/Ph.D for the position of Assistant Professor Grade I.

                Indian Institute of Information Technology Pune (IIIT Pune), an institute of national importance and one of the newly established IIITs by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Govt. of India, under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode invites applications from meritorious and highly qualified Indian nationals and overseas citizens of India (OCIs) from Engineering and Technology background, for the faculty position in the Departments of Computer Science & Engineering.

Details of Educational qualification and Experience required for the posts: (As per 4-tier flexible structure)

Eligible Degree for Consideration:

The essential minimum academic qualification for the post of Assistant Professor must be B.E. / B. Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology or M.E. / M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology or its equivalent branches followed by Ph.D. in relevant research area and shall have First Class (i.e., at least 6.5 CGPA on a scale of 10 or equivalent or 60% aggregate) in preceding degree. The candidates having Ph.D. degree directly after B.E. / B.Tech. are also eligible and they should have obtained First Class at Bachelor’s level.

Instructions for Applicants:-

• The eligibility, qualification, experience for the posts notified shall be governed by guidelines issued by MHRD letter No: F.No. 27-11/2011/TS-I, dated 23/04/2014.
• The vacancies advertised under EWS Category is as per the instructions issued by DoPT, Ministry of Personal, Public Grievances & Pension, Govt. of India, vide OM. NO. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res), dated 31.01.2019. EWS vacancies are tentative and subject to further directives of GoI and outcome of any litigation. The appointment against EWS category shall be provisional and is subject to the Income and Asset certificate being verified through the  proper channels and if the verification reveals that the claim of belonging to EWS is fake / false, the services will be terminated forthwith without assigning any further reasons and without prejudice to such further action as may be taken under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code for production of fake / false certificate. The Income and Asset Certificate issued by any other authorities mentioned in the prescribed format shall only be accepted as proof of candidate’s claim as belonging to EWS
• The date of determining eligibility of candidates in every respects i.e. qualifications, experience and preferred age limit etc. shall be considered on last date of advertisement.
• Age limit for Assistant Professor shall be a maximum of 40 Years. The reservation for SC / ST / OBC-NCL / PwD / EWS and other categories is applicable as per Government of India norms. Institute also encourages applications from qualified women & minority candidates
• All original relevant certificates are required to be produced at the time of presentation / interview, if shortlisted.
• . Candidates shall indicate three references of eminent persons in the field / profession who may be contacted by the Institute for their recommendations.
• Persons serving in Govt. / Semi Govt. / PSUs / Universities / Educational Institutions should send their applications either Through Proper Channel or should furnish a “No Objection Certificate (NOC)” from the Competent Authority of the organization serving, at the time of interview otherwise they may not be allowed for interview. However, they can submit the advance copy of the application form.
• OBC certificate issued on or after 1 st April, 2019 shall only be considered for reservation under OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category.
• The persons with disability (PwD) shall be required to submit the Disability / Medical Certificate in the prescribed form issued by the competent medical authorities for the purpose of employment as per Government of India norms at the time of presentation / interview. Persons suffering from not less than 40% of the disability shall only be eligible for the benefit of reservation under this category
• Decision of the Selection Committee and the Board of Governors of IIIT Pune with respect to the selection process is final.
