GIPE announced job notification for the post of Assistant Professor has been released officially. M.A, M.Sc, M.Phil/Ph.D, MSW pass Can apply for this job openings. Qualification Details:

Applications are invited from eligiblé candidates for appointment as Assistant Professor (1 Post) (OBC Category) under Population Research Centre (PRC) (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India), on regular basis in the Institute.

3. Eligibilty:

i) Good academic record, with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at Master’s Degree in Demography/ Population Studies/ Statistics/ Biostatistics/ Economics/ Mathematics/ Sociology/ Social Work/ Psychology/ Anthropology/ Geography from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited Foreign University. Persons with P. G. Degree other than Demography/ Population Studies should have completed a minimum one year regular course in Demography/ Population Studies at a recognized Institution/ University.

ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications specified under (i), the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or similar test accredited by UGC, such as SLET/SET, in the relevant subject.

iii) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) above, candidates who have been awarded Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the ‘IJGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph. D. Degree) Regulations, 2009’ shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor.

4. Pay Admissible: Academic Level 10 as per 7th Pay Commission.

Instructions to Candidates:

1. Candidates applying for the post of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR should submit six copies (One original plus five photo copies) of the prescribed Application Form and latest Curriculum Vitae.

2. Candidates should submit with their applications, self-attested copies of the Degree and other Certificates in support of their educational qualifications and experience and of the S.S.C. or equivalent Certificate in support of their date of birth. Original Certificates should not be submitted along with the application but should be produced at the time of interview.

3. Only candidates belonging to the OBC category as specified in the advertisement shall be eligible to apply. Such candidates shall be required to submit with their application copies of the Caste Certificate and Non-Creamy Layer Certificate issued for the current financial year by competent authorities.

4. Only those candidates should apply for the post, who fulfill the eligibility criteria on or before the last date of receipt of applications i.e. January 21, 2022.

5. Incomplete applications, as well as applications which are not submitted in the prescribed form in six sets along with at least one copy of the requisite testimonials, are liable to be rejected and no intimation in this regard will be sent to the candidates.

6. Candidates furnishing incorrect or false information shall stand disqualified.

7. No correspondence will be entertained in respect of the advertisement, interview, selection, appointment etc. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification of the candidate.

8. No TA/DA will be admissible either for attending the interview or for joining the post.

9. Mere fulfillment of the minimum qualifications prescribed for a post does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. The Institute may short-list candidates, as may be necessary, for interview. The decision of the Screening Committee, appointed for the purpose of shortlisting candidates from amongst the applications received, shall be final and binding.

11. Candidates already in service should apply through proper channel.

13. Candidates are advised to regularly check Institute/PRC website for latest updates/important instructions, released by the Institute from time to time. No separate intimation in this regard shall be given.

14. The last date of receipt of duly filled in Application Forms, along with the relevant documents, is January 21, 2022.

Note:

1. The post is likely to continue with continuation of the Population Research Centre (PRC) Scheme.

2. The eligibility of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) is permissible only on the basis of the qualifying marks, without including any grace marks.

3. Relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% to Ph.D. Degree holders who have obtained Master’s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991.

4. The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill up the advertised posts.
