Qualification:-
Ph.D. Degree in the relevant field and First class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch of Industrial Design / Visual Communication/ Fine Arts / Applied Arts / Architectune / Interaction Design / New Media Studies / Design Management / Ergonomics / Human Factors Engineering / Indian Craft Studies and related fields of Engineering or designAt least total 6 research publications in SCI journals / UGC / AICTE approved list of journals. AND Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching/ research / industry out 01′ which at least 2 years shall be Post Ph.D. experience
General Conditions:-
- The minimum qualifications required for the post of Associate Professor shall be as specified by the UGC in its regulations and accepted by State Government time to time. A minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed) at the Master’s level shall be the essential qualification for direct recruitment of teachers and other equivalent cadres at any level.
- A relaxation of 5% shall be allowed at the Bachelor’s as well as at the Master’s level for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Classes (OBC)(Non-creamy Layer)/Differently- abled ((a) Blindness and low vision; (b) Deaf and Hard of Hearing; (c) Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid-attack victims and muscular dystrophy; (d) Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness; (e) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness) for the purpose of eligibility and assessing good academic record for direct recruitment. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based only on the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedure.
- A relaxation of 5% shall be provided, (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to the Ph.D. Degree holders who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior tol 9 September, 1991.
- A relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55%, wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized university, at the Master’s level shall also be considered valid.
- The Ph.D. Degree shall be a mandatory qualification for appointment to the post of Associate Pmfessor. The time taken by candidates to acquire M.Phil. and / or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as teaching/research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions.
- Regular faculty members up to twenty per cent of the total faculty strength (excluding faculty on medical (maternity leave) shall be allowed by their respective institutions to take study leave for pursuing Ph.D. degree.

- Applications made through online mode will only be considered by the University. Applications in other forms such as Bio-data, C.V. and any other offline application will not be considered. Candidates residing abroad must send a hatrl copy of an application by post duly signed, so as to reach this office on or before the last date.
- Scanned or photo copy of an application will not be considered. Qualifications and experience are as noti by the Government of Maharashtra,University Grants Commission and Savitribai Phule Pune University from time to time. Teaching experience as an approved teacher will only be considered.
- Candidates must attach the copies of the necessary supporting documents with the application in the following order
a). Document in support of date of birth
b). copy of government gazette or any other appropriate certificate in case of change in name
c). Caste certificate issued by the competent authority if candidate belongs to scheduled caste/Backward caste/ other backward class.
d). Caste validity certificate if already obtained
