Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya Recruitment – Assistant Professor Vacancy

Applications in prescribed form are invited from the citizen of India for the filling up of the post of Assistant Professor in the Department of Sankaradeva Studies of Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya (MSSV), Nagaon, Assam:

General Qualification, Experience and Requirements:-

Assistant Professor (Sankaradeva Studies):-

• A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Assamese/ English/ History/ Political Science/ Folklore/ Sanskrit/ Cultural Studies from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
• Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
• Candidate shall have done Ph.D. in Sankaradeva and his works or pursuing a Ph.D. degree in subject which may be directly related to Sankaradeva and his works or candidates who have done an active research program/ project on Sankaradeva and his works.

Eligibility to apply for the posts:-

1. The Applicant must be a citizen of India.
2. He/she must be medically fit both in mind and in body-a certificate duly signed by the District Medical Officer, Nagaon District or any competent Registered Medical Officer, approved by the Vice-Chancellor, shall have to be produced by any person who would be appointed as a Teacher, before/she is allowed to join.
3. A certificate about good character from the Head of the Institution last attended or served shall accompany an application for any post of a Teacher.
4. The candidate must possess the minimum qualifications for the post

Application Fee:– 

Application Fees and Last Date: Candidate are required to pay an amount of Rs. 2,000.00 (Rupees two thousand) only by demand draft in favour of “Registrar, Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya” payable at “State Bank of India, Nagaon Main Branch (IFSC: SBIN0000146)” or Cash at Accounts Branch of the University as an application fees for the post.

Conditions to be fulfilled after appointment:-

1. A person appointed to the post of a Teacher join within one month from the date of issue of appointment order, failing which the appointment order is liable to be cancelled, provided that in exceptional circumstances, the Vice-Chancellor may extend this period.
2. Before a person appointed to the post of a Teacher joins in his/her post, he/she shall execute an agreement with the university that he/she shall strictly abide by the provisions of the Acts and the Ordinances. A Teacher shall also undertake in the agreement to submit to the Vice-Chancellor a self-appraisal report of his/her performance annually.
3. The person, after joining the post of Teacher, will be subjected to the provisions of the MSSV Teachers’ Service Conditions Ordinance and Officer to be provisions of MSSV Employees’ Service Conditions Ordinance, etc.

Note:-

1. Those who are willing to apply more than one post they must submit separate form with separate application fees
2. The name of post and department must be written on the envelop of the application
3. Those in employment should submit their applications through proper channel up are submit the NOC from the authority concern
4. Near fulfillment of qualification will not entitled an applicant for inviting to the interview
5. The University reserves the right to select candidates for appointment to the above mentioned posts on the basis of its immediate requirements
6. Canvassing directly or indirectly shall disqualify a candidate
7. No TA/DA will be provided by the University for attending the interview..
