Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) invites online application for the recruitment of 408 posts of Lecturers in 14 Subjects in Government Degree Colleges under the Department of Higher Education U.P. were advertised by the Commission vide advertisement No. 5/2016-17 dated 17.3.2017. Meanwhile certain new requisitions for the post of Lecturer in certain new subjects and preadvertised subjects have also been received from Government. In addition to this certain posts of Lecturers carried forward from previous selections have to be readvertised. Thus the revised statement of the post of Lecturers in various subjects are as follow:

There are 6 such posts of Lecturers i.e. 01 post (unreserved) of Lecturer- Military Science/ Defence Studies, 02 posts (ST) of Lecturer- B.Ed. 01 post (unreserved) of Lecturer- Microbiology, 01 post (OBC) of Lecturer- Statistics and 01 post (SC) of Lecturer- Persians are included in above statement which were carried forward by the Commission from previous selections to readvertise.
1-Essential Qualifications:- (A)- For the posts of Lecturers (other than Lecturer- B.Ed.) I- Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks, (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited Foreign University. II- Must Have cleared NET by U.G.C., C.S.I.R. in the relevant subject or SLET of Uttar Pradesh in the relevant subject or SET in the relevant subject accredited by U.G.C. (B) For the posts of Lecturers- B.Ed. I- Good academic record with atleast 55% marks,in the degree of Master of Education (M.Ed.) or an equivalent grade ‘B’ in 7 point scale. II- A Post Graduation degree in any School subject. III- Have cleared NET or SLET of Uttar Pradesh in the relevant subject or SLET in the relevant subject conducted by the other States of India prior to June, 2002. Note- In reference of posts as mentioned above in category A & B, The candidates who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D.degree) (as notified in detail in original advertisement No. 5/2016-17) shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET. For the post of Lecturer- Music(Vocal/ Instrumental), the candidates are also exempted to clear NET/ SLET/SET. who have a traditional and professional artist with highly commendable professional achivement in concerned subject, who should have- (a) Studied under noted/reputed traditional masters and has thorough knowledge to explain the subject concerned. (b) A high grade artist of AIR/TV and (c) Ablility to explain the logical reasoning of the subject concerned and adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in that discipline. 3- Good academic record is defined as under:- A minimum Second division marks in the relevant Bachelor’s Degree according to G.O.N0.1129/sattar-1-2013-15(14)/92 T.C. dated 04 Dec, 2013. 4- A relaxation at the Master’s level:- (i) A relaxation shall be admissible from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Masters level for the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/ Differently- abled (physically and visually differently-abled)/Other Backward Classes (OBC) (non-creamy layer) categories. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures. (ii) A relaxation of 5% shall be admissible from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders who have passed their Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991. 6- For the post of Lecturer (History) mentioned at serial NO- 2, such candidates will be eligible who have Master degree in Medieval and Modern History. 7- Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading is followed by a recognized University shall also be considered eligible. Note:- (I) Other conditions such as age limit, crucial date for calculation of age, Nature of post, Pay scale and application fee etc. for the posts will be same as mention in original advertisement No. 5/2016-17. The candidate must read the previous original advertisement No. 5/2016-17 before applying for the post. (II) The candidate who have already applied for the post against original advertisement No. 5/2016-17, need not apply again. They will be considered for above number of revised posts. (III) Such candidates who have applied online earlier but have not completed prescribed process i.e. have not sent hard copy of their applications and required documents or have sent the same after last date of submission, they must apply online again as a fresh and will have to send hard copy of the application and required documents within last date of submission, otherwise their previous applications will not be considered by the Commission. (IV) Those candidates who have not applied earliar for the posts mentioned at serial number 1 to 14 and such candidates who want to apply for the post of new subject mentioned at serial NO.15 to 29 can apply according to prescribed process as mentioned in the advertisement.
