PROFESSOR (Contractual):-

Ph. D. degree in relevant field and First class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch. 


Minimum of 10 years of experience in teaching/ research / industry out of which at least 3 years shall be at a post equivalent to that of an Associate Professor.


At least 6 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCIjournals / UGC/AICTE approved list of journals and at least 2 successful Ph.D. guided as Supervisor / Co-supervisor till the date of advertisement.


At least 10 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCI journals / UGC/ AICTE approved list of journals till the date of advertisement.

Consolidated Salary of Rs.75000/– PM


Ph.D. degree in the relevant field and First class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch


At least total 6 research publications in SCI journals / UGC/ AICTE approved list of journals.


Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching / research / industry out of which at least 2 years shall be Post Ph.D. experience.

 Consolidated Salary of Rs.65000/– PM


B. E./ B. Tech. / B. S. and M. E./ M. Tech. / M. S. or Integrated M. Tech. in relevant branch with first class or equivalent in anyone of the degrees.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR( S.No. 5,6 and 7) (Contractual):-

Eligibility (A or B):


A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university

Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR,or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SETor who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET


The Ph.D degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by anyone of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE)or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

Important Instructions:-

Once the application form is completely filled,get the printout of the same and send it with, photographs, self-attested copies of necessary certificates including in support of the evidence of Age, Educational Qualifications, Caste, Physical Disability, Experience, all supporting documents related to Academic Performance Indicators (if applicable), endorsement from the current employer (if applicable) etc. with the applications, and only through Speed post/Registered Post to The Registrar(Establishment Department), Gujarat Technological University, Nr. Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Visat Three Roads, Sabarmati- Koba Highway Chandkheda, Ahmedabad – 382 424. It should reach on or before last date (i.e. 28/09/2020) up to 18:00 hours as prescribed for receiving the application. Applications received after the last date will stand rejected automatically.
  4. Separate application is required to be sent for each post, otherwise application will be rejected.
  5. After scrutiny of the received applications, list of eligible candidates for interview will be uploaded on and eligible candidates will be called for interview by mail.
  6. The eligible candidates called for interview shall remain present 30 minutes before the scheduled time and date.
  7. In case of numerous applications, candidate with more experience will be called for an interview.
  8. Applicants are advised to submit their application by clearly mentioning the name of applied post on the top of sealed envelope and well in advance without waiting for the last date to avoid postal delay or any other unforeseen problems. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay at any stage.
  9. Contract of appointed candidates shall be automatically terminated after 11 months.
