3. Job Description:
a. Candidates must hold a PhD in Anthropology or Sociology, and have a demonstrated interest in, and ability to, address broader theoretical issues as well as methodological challenges of studying phenomena at local, regional, and global levels, using a mix of methods including fieldwork and ethnography
b. PhD’s in related disciplines with demonstrated ability to engage with the department’s disciplinary research and teaching profile will be considered. Candidates should show an ability to link their topics of specialization to broader questions of social theory as well as empirical research, and to engage with scholarship in other disciplines

4. The Department is seeking to attract candidates whose research is in the field of anthropology/sociology with research experience in the following fields:
- City and Urban Studies
- Science and Technology Studies
- Environment and Ecology
- Sound Studies
- Law and Governance
- Medicine, Health and Body
- Gender Studies
5. Eligibility Criteria: All applications must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
- At least Six (06) years of teaching/ research experience after doctoral degree.
- Candidate has published 5 research papers / or one book.
- Guidance of at least 1 PhD Scholar is desirable.
- Candidate has a regular record of conference participation.
