On 06.08.2021, BAOU announced job notification for the post of Associate Professor has been released officially. M.Ed, M.Phil/Ph.D pass Can apply for this job openings. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria alone can apply on the official website baou.edu.in. The application process ends on 21.08.2021.

Qualification Details:

Contractual Recruitment on Purely Temporary Basis for 11 Months Applications are invited for the appointment of the following posts on purely temporary basis.

a. Name of the Post: Associate Professor

b. No of Post: 07

c. Fix Salary Per Month: 50000/-

d. Minimum Qualification: Associate Professor – Hindi, Sociology, History, Political Science, Economics,Education Essential Qualification

(1) Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned / allied / relevant disciplines. (N.B. Good academic record means 55% marks or an equivalent grade at master‟s degree level as well as at bachelor‟s degree level. However 55% OR equivalent grade at bachelor‟s degree level shall not be the mandatory requirement for the candidate who is already within and fulfilling selection criteria of concerned University / UGC at similar position.)


(2) A Master‟s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).

(3) A minimum of eight years of fulltime experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.

(4) Contribution to educational innovation, designing of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.

(5) The requirement of API score must be as per the UGC norms in Appendix Table 2 vide University Grants Commission (Ugc Regulations On Minimum Qualifications For Appointment Of Teachers And Other Academic Staff In Universities And Colleges And Measures For The Maintenance Of Standards In Higher Education ), Regulations, July 2018.

(6) The API Score sheet should be countersigned by the Head of the Institution / Principal / Dean of Faculty / Registrar of the University.

e. Preferable:

1. Working knowledge of Gujarati

2. Experience of working in Open Distance Learning System

3. Basic Skills and knowledge of Computer

i) Post – Associate Professor – Special Education

1) Master‟s Degree in any discipline with not less than 50% of marks*

2) M.Ed. Degree in specific disability area with not less than 55% of marks Or an equivalent grade of B+ in 10- point scale of UGC OR An equivalent degree from a foreign university recognized by RCI.

3) Ph.D in Special Education or Education with research emphasis on Special Education.

4) Should have completed at least 08 years of teaching experience as faculty out of which minimum 05 years should be in specific disability area.

5) Should have completed at least one general orientation course and two refresher courses in education / special education of UGC 5) Valid registration with RCI u/s 19 of RCI Act, 1992 is essential

6) Desirable: Minimum 3 publications pertaining to Special Education in indexed journals and research

General Instructions:-

1. All the above mentioned posts are purely on temporary 11 months contractual basis.

2. Selected Candidates will be paid Fix Salary per Month. No other benefits or allowances will be paid.

3. The candidates have to pay prescribed processing fees only by the online mode only. No other mode and DD of payment will not be accepted. The processing fee is Rs.150/- for SC/ ST/SEBC/EWS and PH candidate and Rs.300/- for other candidate.

4. It is mandatory for applicant to abide by any of stipulation as norms and regulations in force at the time of interview by UGC, Government of Gujarat and University.

5. The applicant is required to submit the application in online print and hard copy prescribe form to the University with necessary education qualification and experience documents. Without prescribe hard copy form and online application form your application is rejected.

6. A candidate who knowingly or willfully furnishes incorrect or false particulars or suppresses material information, will be disqualified and if appointed will be liable to be dismissed from service, without any notice.

7. If the space against any item in the Application Form is insufficient, full particulars should be given on a separate sheet of paper which should be attached to the application, entering at the appropriate place a reference to the sheet attached.

8. The candidate must possess all the essentially required qualifications at the time of the last date by the University.

9. Direct or indirect lobbying will be liable for disqualification.

10. No application after last date will be considered. The online and Hard Paper Copy of the Application Form should reach to the University by Registered Post AD or Speed Post or currier only.

11. The University reserves the right to short-list the candidates on the meritbased/aptitude test/written test criteria or any other method for the purpose of inviting the candidates for interview only. The decision of University with regard to the process of selection shall be final and binding on the candidate.

12. University reserves the right to adopt and practice appropriate method of evaluating the candidate during the course of the interview and it shall be binding upon the candidate.

13. Candidates, if invited for interviews, will have to come at their own expense.

14. The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill the post and also to make any amendments.

15. Candidates must enclose the self-attested copies of all mark sheets and passing Certificates of examinations i.e. Higher Secondary, Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree/Doctorate etc. In the absence of the self-attested copies of Mark sheets/Certificates etc. application shall be considered as incomplete and such applicants may not be invited for interview.

16. All the certificates of the essential degree qualifications shall have to be from the institutions duly recognized.

17. While filling the details in the application form the candidate must state percentage of marks division/grade and the subject taken at various examinations where specialization of the subject must be mentioned.

18. The candidate has to fill-up required information through online of the application link form which is available on Website www.baou.edu.in. It is compulsory to submit the online application print with Hard Copy, without print of online application Hard Copy the application form shall be considered incomplete and shall not be processed.

19. If any dispute arises, the decision of the University shall be final. If there is any ambiguity and/or the matter requires any interpretation, the interpretation of the University shall be final.
