Goa University announced job notification for the post of Assistant Professor has been released officially. Any Masters Degree, M.Phil/Ph.D pass Can apply for this job openings. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria attend the walkin interview on 28.12.2021.
Qualification Details:
Applications are invited for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor on Contract basis (Temporary) for the Second term of the academic year 2021-22, in Goa University as per the details given below:

General Requirements:
The National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Eligibility Test (SET) conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University shall remain the minimum eligibility for appointment of Assistant Professor and equivalent positions wherever provided in the Statutes.
(i) Provided that candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2009, or the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and
iii. Procedure for Award of M. Phil/Ph. D. Degree) Regulation, 2016, and their subsequent amendments from time to time, as the case may be, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or any equivalent position.
(ii) Provided further that the award of degree to candidates registered for the M. Phil / Ph. D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Byelaws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree. All such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in University subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:
a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in regular mode only;
b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;
e) The candidate has presented at least two papers, based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency.
The fulfillment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar of the University concerned.
- The clearing of NET/SET shall not be required for candidates in such disciplines for which NET/SET has not been conducted.
III. A minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed) at the Master’s level shall be the essential qualification for direct recruitment of teachers and other equivalent cadres at any level.
Qualification for the post of Assistant Professor
- (i) A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be or have been awarded Ph.D. degree from National Institutes of Importance are exempted from NET/SET:
(iii) Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. Programmer prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Statutes of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in University subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:
a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;
e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar agency
The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following:
(i) Quacqarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) The Times Higher Education (THE) OR (iii) The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

How to Apply:-
- Date and time of interview: 28/12/2021 at 10.30 a.m.
- Only candidates having prescribed qualification and above conditions need to appear for the interview.
- Candidates should register their names in the office of the Assistant Registrar (Teaching), Administrative Office, Goa University half an hour before the scheduled time of the interview.
- Application on plain paper addressed to the Registrar, Goa University, bio-data with self-attested copies of caste certificate and certificates pertaining to educational qualification shall be submitted at the time of registration.
- Candidate shall produce the original certificates for verification during the interview
