Qualification Details:

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates suitable for empanelment for Faculty at the position of Assistant Professor purely on contractual basis in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi. The panel will be valid for one year, however, validity of panel may be extended till completion of ongoing Semester, if required. At present there is requirement of 02 candidates (tentatively which may increase and decrease as per requirement) to engage them at the position of Assistant Professor purely on contract basis @ one in each specialization mentioned in below table in School of Vocational Studies (SVS), Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University Delhi to teach in the newly launched M.Voc (Tourism and Hospitality management Programme ). The term of engagement on contract basis will be for one or more semester(s) which is extendable if required.

4. Essential Qualifications:

i) A Master‘s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in subjects such as Hospitality/Tourism/Food & Nutrition (With hospitality specialization)/ History (with tourism specialization) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

ii)Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M. Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET:

iii) Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Byelaws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions :-

a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;

b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;

c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;

d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;

e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar agency. The fulfillment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned. Note: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET. OR

B. The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

5. Desirable Qualifications:

a) A minimum of two years of working experience in teaching and/or research preferably in a premier educational industry/ working experience in relevant industry i.e. Tourism & Hospitality Sectors.

b) The incumbent should have passionate for teaching, agile in his/her approach, enjoy student interaction, networking with the industry partners and acknowledge the emerging trend related to vocational education and skill development.

Other Instructions:

2. The recruitment shall be made in accordance with the “UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and Other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education, 2018”

3. In accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2018, as amended from time to time along with AUD Acts, Statues and ordinances, including amendments made thereafter, applicants applying for the post of Assistant Professor must submit a certificate in the prescribed format as per Annexure I & II (as applicable) from the concerned University to the effect that their Ph.D. degree is in compliance with relevant UGC Regulations for award of Ph.D. degree.

4. The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for the interview. Where the number of applications received in response to an advertisement is large and it is not feasible or convenient to interview all the candidates, the University at its discretion, may restrict the number of candidates to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications / experience higher than the minimum prescribed for the post. The University, however, prefers candidate possessing higher qualifications and experience.

5. The dates of interviews will be notified on the University website and the same will be communicated through email (as provided in the application form) to the shortlisted candidates. Any change of correspondence address/ email/ phone from the one given in the application form should at once be communicated to the University.

6. Candidates are advised to visit the University website at regular intervals for the updates.

7. The process of selection may be by a presentation/seminar/interview or a combination thereof.

8. The University shall process the applications entirely on the basis of information/ documents submitted by the candidates. In case the information/documents are found to be false/ incorrect by way of omission or commission, the responsibility and liability shall lie solely with the candidate.

9. The academic and research scores are calculated automatically. Candidates are required to mentioned that the journal as indicated by UGC impact factor (JCR) and author status related to all the publications.

10. The Academic and Research score calculate in the online form is only indicated of the applicants eligibility and it shall be confirmed following due scrutiny by the appropriate committee constituted by the University as per the UGC norms and subject to verification.

11. Applicants who have been awarded Ph.D. from foreign Universities should enclose “Equivalence Certificate” issued by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, without which their candidature will not be considered and application will summarily be rejected.

12. The assessment shall be based on evidence produced by the applicant such as: copy of publications, project sanction letter, utilization and completion certificates issued by the University and acknowledgements for patent filing and approval letters, students’ Ph.D. award letter etc.

13. Before applying for a post, applicants are advised to go through the relevant UGC Regulation, 2018 as well as contents of the advertisement carefully and satisfy themselves about their eligibility. No enquiry in this regard will be entertained.
