Applications are invited for filling up of two (02) posts of Assistant Director (Official Language) (one each at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and Armed Forces Medical Stores Depot, Mumbai) (Group ‘A’) in level 10 of pay matrix (pre-revised pay scale of Rs. 15,600-39,100 (PB-3) + Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-) in the Directorate General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS) cadre on deputation basis. The eligibility conditions for applicants are as under:-

1. Name of the Post: Assistant Director (Official Language)

2. No of Post: 02

3. Qualification:

(a) (i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre/department; OR

(ii) With three years regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the Pay Scale of Rs. 9300-34800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4600/- or equivalent in the parent cadre/ department; and

(b) Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:-

(i) Master’s degree of a recognized University or equivalent in Hindi with English as a subject at the degree level; OR Master’s degree of a recognized University or equivalent in English with Hindi as a subject at the degree level; OR Master’s degree of a recognized University or equivalent in any subject with Hindi and English as a subject at the degree level; OR Master’s degree of a recognized University or equivalent in any subject with Hindi medium and English as a subject at the degree level; OR Master’s degree of a recognized University or equivalent in any subject with English medium and Hindi as a subject at the degree level;

(ii) Five years experience of terminological work in Hindi and/or translation work from English to Hindi or vice-versa, preferably of technical or scientific literature OR Six years experience of teaching, research, writing or joumalism in Hindi.

4. Desirable:

(i) Knowledge of Sanskrit or a modern Indian language;

(ii) Administrative Experience;

(iii) Experience of organising Hindi classes or workshops for noting and drafting.

5. Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization/ department of the Central Government, shall ordinarily not to exceed three years. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be not exceeding 56 years on the closing date of receipt of applications.

6. The terms and conditions of deputation will be governed by the DOP&T’s 0M No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay-II) dated 17.06.2010, as amended from time to time.

7. As regards qualification asked vide para 1 (a) & (b) above, a certificate from the competent authority will be attached giving the details of experience.

8. It may be noted that candidate who once apply for the post and selected, will not be allowed to withdraw his/her candidature or revert to their parent cadre without completing the period of deputation.

Selection Procedure :

Selection will be Based On Deputation Basis.

1. It is requested that the applications (in duplicate) in the given proforma along with the complete and upto date confidential reports/APARs of the officers who could be spared in the event of their selection duly countersigned by the employer may be sent to the office of the DGAFMS/DG-2B, Ministry ot Defence, ‘M’ Block, New Delhi- 110001 within 60 days of the issue of this advertisement.

2. Applications received after the last date or without the confidential reports or otherwise found incomplete will not be considered. While forwarding the applications, it may be verified and certified that the particulars furnished by the officers are correct and that no disciplinary/vigilance case is pending. The details of major/minor penalties imposed on the officer during the last 10 years may also be furnished.
