Assistant Professor Jobs in Midnapore at Vidyasagar University

On 26.05.2021, Vidyasagar University announced job notification for the post of Assistant Professor has been released officially. Any Masters Degree, M.Phil/Ph.D pass Can apply for this job openings. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria alone can apply on the official website vidyasagar.ac.in. The application process ends on 14.06.2021.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:

1. Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject alongwith relaxation applicable to specified categories as explained in the Note-1.
2. the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC/CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like NET/SET along with exemptions to specified categories as explained in the Note – 2.
3. Note-2: NET/SLET/SET Exemption for the Post of Assistant Professor :
4. The candidates who have been awarded Ph.D. degree in the same or in a relevant subject in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 shall be exempted from the qualifying in the Eligibility Test (NET/SLET/SET).
5. Candidates registered for Ph.D. programme prior to 11 July, 2009 shall be exempted from qualifying in the Eligibility Test (NET/SLET/SET) as described hereinafter. The award of Degree to candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing

Ordinances/ Bye laws/ Regulations of the institutions awarding the Degree in the same or relevant subject shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET /SET. Subject to fulfillment of the following conditions :

1. a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;
   b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;
   c) Open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;
   d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a referred journal;
   e) Candidate has made at least two presentations in conferences, seminars, based on his/her Ph.D. work.
   f) (a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/Pro-ViceChancellor/Dean (Academic Affairs)/Dean (University instructions).

iii. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Master’s Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

General Instructions:-

1. In case of contractual posts, the appointment will be made initially for a period of 1(One) year. Based on the performance contract may be renewed for a further period.
2. The period of time spent by the candidates to acquire M.Phil and Ph.D degree shall not be claimed or considered as teaching/research experience for appointment to the post of Associate Professor / Professor.
3. OBC-A, OBC-B, SC, ST, EC certificate, (as the case may be, if applicable) issued by the competent authority of Govt. of West Bengal only, will be considered
4. Persons employed in Government / Semi Government Organizations / Autonomous Bodies should submit their application through proper channel. They may, however, send an advance copy of the application.
5. Those who are unable to process their application through proper channel may submit ‘No Objection Certificate (NOC)’ from present employer during the time of interview.
6. However, they should submit an undertaking to that effect.
7. Direct application from such candidates will not be entertained.
8. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBCs/Ex-Serviceman and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) is applicable as per Government norms. Age relaxation is also applicable those are working at Vidyasagar University.
9. Candidates should submit their SC/ST/OBCs/ Ex-Serviceman, Disability Certificate issued by Competent Authority in the prescribed format along with the application form, in support of their claim.
10. The University reserves the right of rejecting any or all the applications without assigning any reasons thereof.
11. Candidates applying for more than one post may apply separately for each post.
12. Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for interview / written test. The decision of the University in all matters will be final. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection. Canvassing in any manner would entail disqualification of the candidature.
13. Incomplete applications or applications without self-attested copies of certificates or received after the last date are liable to be rejected. The University reserves the right to conduct the written / screening test, if the number of applicant is large for a particular post.
14. Applications received without requisite fees will be rejected.
15. No Interim Enquiries Will Be Entertained.
