On the occasion of Teacher’s Day 2022, five fellowships and research grants will be started for various people including single girl child and retired teachers.
University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Jagdish Kumar has said that the commission will start five fellowships and research grants for various people, including single girl child and retired teachers, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day 2022. The five schemes that will be launched are ‘Savitri Jyotirao Phule Fellowship’ for single girl child, ‘Dr. Radhakrishnan UGC Post-Doctoral Fellowship, ‘Retired Teacher Fellowship‘, ‘Serving Teacher Research Grant’ and ‘Dr. DS Kothari Research Grant’ for newly recruited teachers.
Kumar said, “On Teacher’s Day, the UGC is announcing several research schemes, which will benefit higher educational institutions across the country.”
The ‘Retired Teacher Fellowship’ is being started to provide research opportunities to retired teachers. Under this there are 100 places and under fellowship, selected candidates will be given Rs 50000 per month and Rs 50000 annually as contingency fund.
Research opportunities will be given to the teachers appointed regularly in the ‘Serving Teacher Research Grant’. In this, 200 selected candidates will be given Rs 10 lakh each for two years.
Associated with newly appointed teachers ‘Dr. The ‘DS Kothari Research Grant’ is for regularly appointed teachers. Under this, 132 selected candidates will be provided assistance of Rs 10 lakh each for two years.
Doctor. Radhakrishnan UGC Post Doctoral Fellowship will provide an opportunity for higher studies and research in science, engineering, technology, humanities and social sciences, including languages, in Indian universities and institutions. It has 900 seats, of which 30 percent are reserved for women. Selected candidates will be given a fellowship of Rs 50,000 per month and a contingency amount of Rs 50000 per annum.
