Organization Profile: Welcome to Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), a unique P. C. Mahalanobis institution devoted to the research, teaching and application of statistics, natural sciences and social sciences. Founded by Professor P.C. Mahalanobis in Kolkata on 17th December 1931, the institute gained the status of an Institution of National Importance by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1959.
Job Position: Research Associate
Title of the Project: Physics & Earth Sciences Division
Qualification :
- Essential: Ph.D. with research work in Geology or Earth Sciences. Preference will be given to candidates whose research topic includes either Sedimentology, Palaeontology or Structural Geology, and who have completed Ph.D. from an organization other than ISI in the last two years.
Pay: Consolidated monthly emoluments of Rs.47000/- (Rupees forty seven thousand only), Rs.49000/- (Rupees forty nine thousand only) and Rs. 54000/- (Rupees fifty four thousand only) plus HRA as per rules of the Institute per month depending on the qualification and experience in the three categories respectively.
Tenure: The tenure of appointment will be initially upto 31 March 2024 from the date of his/her joining the Institute which may be extended later/ terminated earlier, depending on availability of funds and performance of the candidate. Based on performance of the candidate, the term of research associateship can be up to a maximum of two years.

Age: Should not exceed 35 years as on 01 May 2023 with usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women/differently abled candidates. Age relaxation may also be given to outstanding candidates or candidates with relevant experience.
