CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) UGC NET is held to evaluate eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship/Assistant Professor in Indian colleges and universities subject to satisfying the qualifying standards specified by the UGC.
CSIR NET online applications are released twice a year via CSIR Press Notification on all Indian sites of CSIR UGC NET for JRF and LS/AP CSIR. Interested candidates must read detailed application process here before applying. UGC provides Research Fellowships to prepare techniques for research under the expert guidance of faculty members or researchers working in the University Department/National Laboratories and Institutions in different fields of Science.
Universities/IITs/Post Graduate Colleges/Government Research Establishments, including the CSIR, Research and Development establishments of recognised public or private sector industrial businesses, and other perceived organisations and institutions are eligible for JRF CSIR NET Fellowships.
Only legal Indian citizens are eligible for the test. In India, NTA CSIR NET Fellowship is a viable solution. The goal of this programme is to develop National Science and Technology Human Resources.
What is NTA CSIR UGC NET?
The full form of CSIR UGC NET is Council of Scientific and Industrial Research University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test. It is a national-level exam administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to select applicants for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and to determine their eligibility for lecturing positions in Indian universities and colleges.
Candidates who qualify the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) NET exam are only eligible to become lecturers in the faculty of Science and Technology.

CSIR NET 2022 Eligibility Criteria
For an applicant to appear in the CSIR NET 2022 examination has to follow the below-mentioned eligibility criteria:
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- The upper age limit for the post of JRF should be 28 years.
- There will be no upper age limit for the post of lectureship.
- Applicants from various categories shall be given relaxation accordingly.
- Those applicants having bachelor’s degrees, regardless of whether science, engineering, or some other discipline, are eligible for the fellowship solely after getting enlisted/enrolled for a PhD or Integrated PhD program within the legitimacy time of two years.
- Those candidates who are enrolled for M.Sc. or have completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying exam are also eligible to apply in the above subject under the category ‘Result Awaited (RA)’.
CSIR NET Application Form 2022
The candidates interested to appear in CSIR NET 2022 are required to fill the application form for the same. The mode for filling the application form is made online.

CSIR NET Admit Card 2022
The admit card will be released in the next month after the application form is submitted. The candidates have to submit the complete application form within the given duration to be able to receive the CSIR NET admit card.
After the admit cards are released on the official website of CSIR, the candidates can download the admit cards by logging into their accounts. No entry shall be allowed at the exam centre to the candidates without the admit card.

The question paper will be divided into 3 parts which are ‘Part A’, ‘Part B’, and ‘Part C’. The candidates falling under
Part A:
- Part A is common for all subjects. This part of the question paper will contain a maximum of 20 questions from General Aptitude. The candidate needs to attempt any 15 questions carrying 2 marks each to clear this section.
- Total Marks allocated to Part A will be 30 out of 200.
Part B:
- This section will contain conventional MCQs related to the subjects. The candidate is required to attempt around 20 to 35 questions to clear this section.
- Total Marks allocated to Part B will be 70 out of 200.
Part C:
- This part will contain higher value questions to test a candidate’s knowledge and/or the application of scientific concepts. The questions in this section will be analytical, the candidate has to apply their scientific knowledge to solve the scientific problem provided.
- Total Marks allocated to Part C will be 100 out of 200 and negative markings will be done for wrong questions.
