The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, a premier centrally funded technical institution and an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, invites qualified and motivated candidates to appear for a walk-in interview for the post of Assistant Professor (Temporary) in the Department of Civil Engineering.

This engagement is for the Autumn 2025–26 academic session and is subject to extension based on institutional needs and individual performance.

🎓 Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree: B.Tech. or equivalent in Civil Engineering

  2. Master’s Degree: M.Tech. in Construction Technology and Management or an equivalent specialization

  3. Doctoral Degree: Ph.D. in Construction Technology and Management (preferred)

📌 Specialization Required

  • Construction Technology and Management (or equivalent fields such as Construction Engineering & Management)

Applicants with strong academic backgrounds, research potential, and relevant teaching/industry experience in the above specialization are encouraged to apply.

💼 Remuneration

  • ₹70,900/- per month – for candidates possessing a Ph.D.

  • ₹57,700/- per month – for candidates without Ph.D.

The salary is consolidated and fixed for the duration of the engagement.

⏳ Period of Engagement

  • The appointment is for the Autumn Semester 2025–26

  • It may be extended based on the candidate’s performance and the department’s requirement
