Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE), a Deemed-to-be University, was originally established in 1984 as Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering by the visionary freedom fighter and philanthropist Thiru T. Kalasalingam. The institution received Deemed University status in 2006 and today offers an extensive range of UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs across Engineering, Science, Technology, Humanities, Law, Physiotherapy, and Allied Health Sciences.
KARE is recognized as the first institution in India to offer a special B.Tech program for students with speech and hearing impairments. It is accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ Grade (CGPA 3.11), and six undergraduate programs are NBA Tier-1 accredited. The university operates across both Krishnankoil and Chennai campuses.
