Essential Qualifications

  • Ph.D. with first class or equivalent in the preceding degree

  • Outstanding academic record

  • For senior positions, candidates must demonstrate leadership through sponsored projects, Ph.D. guidance, and global research visibility

Pay Scale & Experience Requirements (As per 7th CPC)

Assistant Professor Grade-II (Pay Level 10/11)

  • For candidates with less than 3 years post-Ph.D. experience

  • Minimum pay: ₹98,200 (Pay Level 10) + allowances

  • Eligible for promotion to Grade-I after meeting required experience and internal review

Assistant Professor Grade-I (Pay Level 12)

  • Minimum pay: ₹1,01,500 + allowances

  • After 3 years of satisfactory service → placement in Pay Level 13A1

  • Experience required: Minimum 3 years post-Ph.D.

Associate Professor (Pay Level 13A2)

  • Minimum pay: ₹1,39,600 + allowances

  • Experience: 6 years post-Ph.D., including 3 years at Assistant Professor or equivalent

Professor (Pay Level 14A)

  • Minimum pay: ₹1,59,100 + allowances

  • Experience: 10 years post-Ph.D., including 4 years at Associate Professor level in IITs, IISc, IIMs, IISERs, or international institutions of repute
