Essential:

  • Diploma in Career Guidance & Counselling

  • Experience as a School Counsellor (CBSE or recognised institution)

  • Training in child & adolescent mental health, life skills, and career counselling

🎯 Role Overview

The Student Counsellor & Wellness Teacher will play a key role in supporting students’ emotional, behavioural, social, and academic development. This position contributes to a positive, inclusive environment and leads student wellness programs aligned with CBSE guidelines.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

1. Student Counselling & Emotional Support

  • Provide individual and group counselling for emotional, behavioural, and academic issues (stress, anxiety, peer pressure, self-esteem, etc.)

  • Identify at-risk students and initiate timely interventions

  • Ensure a safe, confidential, and student-friendly counselling environment

2. Wellness, Life Skills & Mental Health Programs

  • Conduct life skills classes, wellness activities, and awareness sessions

  • Facilitate workshops on:

    • Exam stress

    • Cyber safety

    • Anti-bullying

    • Substance abuse awareness

    • Emotional resilience

3. Academic, Behavioural & Career Support

  • Guide students in study techniques, academic planning, and learning challenges

  • Collaborate with teachers on behavioural concerns and classroom strategies

  • Offer basic subject and career guidance

4. Collaboration With Teachers & Parents

  • Work closely with teachers to create student support plans

  • Organise parent meetings, counselling workshops, and orientation programs

  • Coordinate with external specialists when required

5. School Safety & Child Protection

  • Support implementation of CBSE norms on child safety, POSCO, inclusion, and anti-bullying

  • Participate in:

    • Child Protection Committee

    • School Safety Committee

    • Inclusion Team

  • Assist in creating behaviour and emotional safety policies

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain counselling records confidentially as per CBSE and ethical standards

  • Provide periodic wellness reports without compromising student privacy
