ESI-PGIMSR and ESIC Medical College Joka Recruitment -Assistant Professor Vacancies

Employees’ State Insurance Corporation which is a statutory body constituted under an Act of Parliament (ESI Act, 1948) and works under the administrative control of Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India invites application for immediate engagement of Teaching Faculty initially for one year, to be extended for another one year on satisfactory performance, with a minimum term of one year in respect of teaching faculty or attaining the age of 70 years whichever is earlier at ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College, Joka through email to deanpgi-joka.wb@esic.nic.in or physically by 24.09.2020 up to 10:00 AM for document verification. The number of vacancies and other details are as given below:-

DETAILS OF VACANCIES AND RESERVATION POSITION:-

AGE LIMIT:- Not exceeding 69 years as on date of Document verification.

Note:-

• This post is purely contractual and terminable by either side with a prior notice of one month without assigning any reason. Selection to this post does not confer the right of confirmation or continuation, as this post is to be filled by selection & appointment of the regular candidates.
• Other terms and conditions will be applicable as issued by competent authority from time to time.

• In case of non-availability of candidates of suitable category in Assistant Professor posts. The current holding Assistant Professor may be re-invited to occupy the post for less than 45 days, on the respective posts in the above mentioned Department.

Educational & Other Qualification:-

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council, Act, 1956. (Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in section 13 (3) of the said Act);and
• A post graduate qualification e.g. MD (Doctor of Medicine) or (MS) Master of Surgery or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective subject or allied discipline

EXPERIENCE:-

For the candidates possessing MD/MS degree from MCI recognized medical college:

• Three years teaching experience in the subject as Resident/ Registrar/ Demonstrator/Tutor in a recognized medical college either during the post graduation course or after obtaining postgraduate degree in the subject.
• One year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognized/Permitted medical college
• Provided that in disciplines where the post of Senior Resident is not prescribed in the applicable Minimum Standard Requirements for the Medical College for 100 Admissions Annually Regulations one year experience as Tutor/Demonstrator/Resident/registrar after obtaining Post Graduate Degree in the concerned discipline shall be required .

Equivalence of qualification of DNB (broad specialties) with MD/MS:

• Those candidates who have undergone DNB training in an institution which now run MCI recognized postgraduate degree courses in a given subject, their DNB qualifications shall be considered at par with MCI recognized qualifications that subject only
• One year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognized/Permitted medical college.
• Provided that in disciplines where the post of Senior Resident is not prescribed in the applicable Minimum Standard Requirements for the Medical College for 100 Admissions Annually Regulations one year experience as Tutor/Demonstrator/Resident/registrar after obtaining Post Graduate Degree in the concerned discipline shall be required.

Additional training of one year for equivalence of qualification of DNB (broad Specialties) with MD/MS:

• Those candidates who have undergone DNB training in broad specialties in hospital/ institution other than mentioned in
• above, shall undergo one additional year of senior residency or equivalent training or research job in a MCI recognized hospital/ institution, provided such qualifications are notified in the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations 2000”.
• One year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognized/Permitted medical college.
• Provided that in disciplines where the post of Senior Resident is not prescribed in the applicable Minimum Standard Requirements for the Medical College for 100 Admissions Annually Regulations one year experience as Tutor/Demonstrator/Resident/registrar after obtaining Post Graduate Degree in the concerned discipline shall be required.

PAY & ALLOWANCES:-

• The consolidate remuneration will be paid as under: –

• No other allowances will be paid.
• No kind of Private practice is allowed during the tenure of service in ESIC
• Retired candidates from Central/ State Govt. / PSU from the equivalent posts are eligible to apply. Persons working in recognized/ approved Private Medical Institutions fulfilling eligibility criteria for the post may also apply.
• The candidates have to attach the self-attested copies of all the relevant certificates/ testimonials on support of date of birth, category, sub-category i.e. educational qualification, teaching experience, Pension Payment Order (PPO), etc. with the application form and have to produce originals thereof at the time of interview.

HOW TO APPLY:-

The candidate should check his/her eligibility against the advertised criteria for each post before applying. Interested candidates should send filled in Application Form (Annexure-I) and enclosing necessary self-attested copies of certificates, as mentioned below, through email to deanpgi-joka.wb@esic.nic.in or physically by 24.09.2020 up to 10:00 AM for document verification to become eligible for appearing in the Interview. The names of the eligible candidates and tentative date, time and venue of interview will be communicated in the respective email id of eligible candidate as well as they will asked to appear in the Interview on the date mentioned in the Interview Call Letter sent by email only.

The following testimonials/ certificate should be sent through above mentioned email or physically by 24.09.2020 up to 10:00 AM for document verification along with the application form:-

• One sets of the prescribed application form enclosed with this notification must be printed on A4 size paper and properly filled up and submitted at the time of verification on the day of interview.
• Two recent self-attested color passport size photographs.
• One sets of self-attested copies of certificates and testimonials in support of: (i) proof of age /Date of Birth(secondary exam certificate/admit card), (ii) Category (SC & ST), Category OBC and Category EWS in up to date Government of India Format, Sub-category, (iii) Educational Qualifications: (Graduate, Post Graduate certificate, & any other),(iv)Registration certificate issued by State Medical Council/MCI (v) MCI recognized teaching experience issued by the Head of the Institute or Head of the Department, (vi) Research Publications in Indexed Journals, (vii) Pension Payment Order (PPO), in case of retired employees from Govt. organizations,(Viii) NOC for in service candidate from employer (ix) service bond release certificate if applicable along with Original documents.

A Demand Draft of Rs. 225/- in favour of ‘ESI Fund Account No. I’, drawn after the date of issue of this advertisement on any scheduled bank payable at ‘Kolkata’ has to be submitted along with the Application Form.

• Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances
• Only Demand Draft drawn on any Scheduled Bank will be accepted. Application Fee paid by any other mode will not be accepted.
• The Demand Draft must be issued after the date of issue of this advertisement.
• Separate Demand Drafts to be paid if candidate applies for more than one post

General Conditions:-
