Qualification Details:-

Empanelment in the Additional AdHoc Panel for the Post of Assistant Professor in English for the Academic Session 2020-21. This is to notify to all concerned that online applications through Google form are invited from fresh applicants for empanelment in the additional Ad hoc Panel for the post of Assistant Professor in English in the constituent colleges of University of Delhi for the academic session 2020-21.

The candidates, who have been awarded a PhD Degree in English in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of PhD Degree) Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of NET, subject to their production of an appropriate certificate in this respect. Provided further that the award of degree to candidates registered for PhD in English prior to 11th  JuIy 2009 shall be governed by the provisions of then existing Ordinances/ By Laws / Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and such PhD in English degree holders shall be exempted from the requirement of NET. Subject to an appropriate certificate indicating the following:

  • That the Ph.D. Degree of the candidate was awarded in the regular mode.
  • That the evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis was done by at least two external examiners.
  • That an open Ph.D. viva voce examination of the candidate was conducted.
  • That the candidate had published two research papers from/based on his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one was in a refereed journal.
  • That the candidate had made at least two presentations in conferences/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D. work

It may note that the NET exemption certificate must be issued by either the Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs), the Dean (Examinations), the Controller of Examinations or an equivalent official of the concerned University. For candidates who have obtained their degree(s) from recognized Universities, equivalence certificate(s) from the Association of Indian Universities is mandatorily required for empanelment.

If the Ph.D.in English degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following:

  • Quacquarelliy Symonds (QS), the Times Higher Education (THE), or
  • the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong
  • University (Shanghai), the proof of ranking is also to be uploaded in the application.

It may be noted that the application form should be complete in all respects. Incomplete forms with inadequate documents will be summarily rejected. The Department reserves the right to reject the application. Even if the candidate has been a part of the previous ad-hoc panel. The responsibility of providing the relevant documents/certificates lies entirely with the candidates.

It may also be noted that late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.

How to Apply:-

  • Those who are already on the Adhoc panel for the academic year 2019-20 and 2020-21 need not apply again for this round of empanelment unless they have acquired any additional/updated qualification(s), in which case, they are required to update their information in the prescribed online application form for this round of empanelment latest by Monday, 28 December, 2020.
  • Those candidates who are empaneled in the existing panels(2019-2() and 2020-21) and desire their names to be excluded from the adHoc panel for the academic session 2020-21 may write to the undersigned at eng.adhocpanel.du tugmail.com as soon as possible but not later than Monday, 28 December, 2020.
  • Those fresh applicants who are interested and fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements as laid down by the UJGC/University of Delhi may submit their application forms online by following the below mentioned link and filling the Google form latest by Monday, 28 December, 2020
