Educational Qualifications: Candidates with a strong mathematical/ statistical base (First class Master’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics) with doctoral degree in computational ecology (macro ecology); aligned with research interest of the school of informatics, Digital University, Kerala. Areas of Specializations: Terrestrial Vegetation Ecology and Global Change with demonstrated experience in numerical ecology/ mathematical modelling, and good command of programming and data analytics.

Educational Qualifications: Candidates with First class Master’s degree in Botany/Zoology/ Environmental Science/Technology with good statistical skills and with a doctoral degree in ecology/environmental science (macro ecology); aligned with research interest of the school of informatics, Digital University, Kerala. Areas of Specializations: Environmental Biology (terrestrial vegetation ecology) with research experience in interdisciplinary frontier areas of macro ecology. Background in ecological informatics will be a desirable qualification.

4. Assistant Professor – School of Computer Science and Engineering

Educational Qualifications: M. Tech with Ph. D, with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in Post-Graduation from a reputed institution in Computer Science.

Areas of Specializations:

Machine Learning – Proven research credentials in ML algorithm design.

Data Intelligence – Proven research credentials in algorithms for data intelligence and cybersecurity. Internet of Things – Proven research credentials in IoT Networks.

Computer Vision– Proven research credentials in computer vision algorithms and applications.

Quality Expectations

1. Ph.D or Postdoc is expected to be completed from a reputed university that falls within top 500 in international ranking systems (such as THE, ARWU, SC Imago) or top 100 in Indian national ranking systems (NIRF).

2. It is desirable that the applicant has worked in leading research labs or institutions of high repute. International exposure and experience of collaborating with top scientists in the world will be highly desirable.

3. It is desirable that the applicant has experience of publishing in top quality journals or conferences in the areas of their specialization.

Selection Procedure:-

The Screening committee shall short-list the eligible and desirable candidates, to be called for interview. The prescribed qualification is minimum and depending upon the number of applicants, the short-listing criteria may be set higher than the minimum advertised.

How to Apply:-

Instructions to the Candidates:

1. Applications shall be submitted via ONLINE mode only by filling the prescribed application form available at www.duk.ac.in/careers before 4.00 PM latest by March 26, 2021. Applications received thereafter shall not be entertained.

2. The selected applicants are required for an on-campus interview process. You are required to leave aside two days for the visit. This will involve a research talk, meeting with faculty and interaction with the selection committee.

3. For each of the qualifications, professional experiences, achievements, etc., documentary proof in the form of self-attested photo-copies is to be uploaded along with the application. The applicants are also required to list names of at least two referees, who can testify your work experience, skills, achievements, and personal integrity. Provide their names, current designation, current employer, location, e-mail addresses, and landline or mobile phone numbers.

4. All degrees/certificates should be from recognized University/Institute. 5. The originals must be produced at the time of interview. 6. Incomplete applications / applications without necessary attachments may not be accepted.

7. Any misleading or wrong information supplied by the candidates may lead to summarily rejection of the application, if found subsequently also, the appointment will be cancelled.

9. Apart from merit, the specialization of a candidate will play a vital role in shortlisting and selection. Candidates with studentship or work experience in reputed Universities, Institutions or Industry or with greater relevance to the academic programmes of the Institute will be given preference. The Institute’s decision on the reputation of other Universities/institutes will be based on international Standards/Rankings and will be binding.

10. The Institute reserves the right to offer a lower or higher pay to the candidate based on recommendation of the selection committee.

11. Persons employed in Government and Semi-Government organizations must apply through proper channels. ‘No Objection Certificate’ shall be submitted along with the application.

12. No interim queries regarding the interview / selection process will be entertained. The candidates are, therefore, advised to check their email regularly after the last date of receipt of application.

13. Canvassing in any form will lead to rejection of application form.

14. Candidates will have to appear for an interview at their own cost, if called before a Selection Committee on the date and place which will be communicated to the candidates.

15. The Institute reserves the right to defer or cancel the selection process without assigning any reason thereof.

16. Applications received after the due date will not be considered.

17. The applicants are required to visit the Institute website regularly for any subsequent corrigendum/addendum etc. which shall be published on the Institute website.

18. Applicable reservations will be followed in the selection process.

19. Decision of the Selection Committee and the Board of Directors of IIITM-K with respect to the selection process is final.
