Qualification Details:
Subject : Recruitment of Regular Faculty posts in various disciplines for AIIMS, New Delhi.
1. Name of the Post: Assistant Professor
2. No of Post: 252
3. Salary: Entry Level Pay Matrix 12 – Rs. 101500- 167400/- as per 7th CPC (plus NPA for those medical posts for which a recognized medical qualification has been prescribed as an essential qualification).
4. Essential Qualification and Experience:
a) i) For medical Candidate: A Medical qualification included in Schedule I & II or part II of the third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 {candidates possessing the qualification included in Part-II of the third Schedule should also fulfill the condition specified in Section 13 (3) of the Act.} A postgraduate qualification e.g. MS in Anatomy or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto. Three years teaching and/or research experience in a Institution in the subject of specialty recognized MS in after obtaining the qualifying degree of Anatomy or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
ii) For Non medical Candidate: Master’s Degree in Anatomy from a recognized Institution or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto. A Doctorate Degree from a recognized University. Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the discipline/ subject concerned after obtaining the Doctorate Degree.
b) A postgraduate qualification i.e. M.D in Anesthesiology or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto. Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD in Anesthesiology or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
c) i) For medical Candidate: A postgraduate qualification, i.e. MD in Biochemistry or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto. Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD in Biochemistry or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
ii) For Non medical Candidate: A postgraduate qualification, i.e. Master’s Degree in Medical Biochemistry/ Biochemistry. Doctorate Degree of a recognized University. Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the discipline/ subject concerned after obtaining the Doctorate Degree.
d) A good Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Biostatics. A Doctorate Degree from a recognized university. Three years teaching and/ or research experience in a recognized institution in the discipline/ subject concerned after obtaining the Doctorate Degree.
e) D.M. in Cardiac Anesthesia (2 years or 3 years or 5 years or 6 years recognized course after MBBS) or recognized qualification equivalent thereto. One year teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the Degree of D.M. in Cardiac Anesthesia (2 years or 5 years recognized course after MBBS) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto. However, no experience is necessary for the candidates possessing three years or six years recognized Degree of D.M. in Cardiac Anesthesia.

Other Information for the Candidates:
1. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi is an autonomous body established under an Act of Parliament.
2. Service under the AIIMS, New Delhi is governed by the Act and the Rules & Regulations framed thereunder.
3. Period of probation for all faculty posts is two years.
4. The post(s) is/ are whole time and private practice of any kind is prohibited.
5. The employees of the AIIMS will be governed by the New Pension Scheme as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division) Notification No. 5/7/ 2003-ECB&PR dated 22.12.2003.
6. Process of Selection is Interview.
7. Applicants must possess the essential qualification and experience up-to-the last date of online submission of application(s). Their candidature will be cancelled at any stage if it is found that their educational qualification or experiences is not recognized by the Govt. of India.
8. Incomplete application(s) and applications where hard copy is received after the last date will be summarily rejected.
9. The period of experience shall be counted after obtaining the prescribed educational qualification.

While every effort will be made to provide residential accommodation to the faculty appointed at the AIIMS subject to availability but in view Of the paucity Of the residential accommodation in the campus, it may not be possible to provide accommodation in every case. In the event that no accommodation is provided, necessary House Rent Allowance (H.R.A) as-admissible to-the Central Government Servants of similar status stationed at Delhi/ New Delhi will be provided as per rules.
