Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), an Autonomous Organization under Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare invites applications from suitable candidates who are Indian Citizens for WALK IN INTERVIEW for the appointment to the following posts of Assistant Professors on regular basis in the Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre, Bhopal, a unit under ICMR, on the date and time indicated on the table below. These posts in Pay Level 11 of the Pay Matrix and gross salary is about Rs. 1.15 lakh.

Promotional Avenues: Eligibility for promotion from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and Associate Professor to Professor and Professor to Sr. Administrative Grade is presently 2, 4 and 7 years in the respective grade without linkage to vacancies.
2. BMHRC has been providing quality super specialty medical, surgical and interventional facilities to the gas victims and their families and the public at large. OPD footfall in the main hospital and eight health centres is around sixty-seventy thousand per month and there are around seven to nine hundred indoor patients per month in the hospital. The hospital has established infrastructure with fully functional CT Scan, Cardiac Catheterisation Lab, ICU, CCU, CTVS, ICU, Operation Theatre, other essential equipment, etc.
Indian Council of Medical Research is a premier medical research organization under the Department of Health Research (DHR), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, dealing with health research in various areas in collaboration with national/international agencies through its 27 Institutes/Centres and a large number of field stations situated all over the country.
3. The posts are with all India transfer liability under the Council.
(i) Qualifications for the Medical Posts:
Essential:
- A recognised Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and holders of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956);
- post-graduate Degree in the speciality or super-speciality in the following courses, namely:-
(A) Anaesthesia- Doctor of Medicine (Anaesthesiology); or Master of Surgery (Anaesthesiology);
(B) (CTVS) – Magister Chirurguie (Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery) or Magister Chirurguie (Thoracic Surgery); or Magister Chirurguie (Cardio Surgery) or Magister Chirurguie (Vascular Surgery) ;
(C) Gastro surgery- Magister Chirurguie (Surgical Gastroenterology); or Master of Surgery (Surgery) with two years special training in Surgical Gastroenterlogy;
(D) Nephrology- Doctorate of Medicine (Nephrology);
(E) Neurology- Doctorate of Medicine (Neurology) ;
(F) Neurosurgery- Magister Chirurguie (Neuro-Surgery) ;
(G) Pathology – Doctor of Medicine (Pathology) or Doctor of Philosophy (Pathology); or Doctor of Science (Pathology) ;
(H) Psychiatry- Doctor of Medicine (Psychiatry) or Doctor of Medicine (Psychological Medicine) or Doctor of Medicine in Medicine with Diploma in Psychological Medicine or Diploma in Psychiatry (Edin) of two years course or Diploma in Psychiatry (Mc.Gill) University, Montreal, Canada of two years’ course;
(I) Pulmonary Medicine- Doctor of Medicine (Tuberculosis) or Doctor of Medicine (Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases); or Doctor of Medicine (Medicine) with Diploma in Tuberculosis Diseases or Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases or Doctor of Medicine (Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases) ;
(J) Radiology- Doctor of Medicine (Radio-diagnosis) or Doctor of Medicine (Radiology) or Master of Surgery (Radiology) ;
(K) Surgical Oncology- Magister Chirurguie (Surgical Oncology) or Master of Surgery or Master of Surgery (Ear, Nose, Throat) or Master of Surgery (Orthopaedics) or Doctor of Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) with two years special training in Surgical Oncology;
(L) Urology- Magister Chirurguie (Urology); or
Experience
- At least three years’ teaching experience as Senior Resident or Tutor or Demonstrator or Registrar in the concerned specialty or super-specialty in a recognized teaching Institution, after obtaining the first postgraduate degree
Note 1 : Holder of DNB qualification should submit an equivalent Certificate from NBE that his/her DNB qualification is equivalent to MD/MS or DM/MCh in terms of the Gazette notification No MCI12(2)/2018-Med.Misc/142810 dated 31.10.2018 published on 01.11.2018. Note 2 : In the case of holders of Doctorate of Medicine (D.M.) or Magister of Chiruguie (M. Ch.) qualification of five years’ duration, the period of senior postgraduate residency rendered in the last part of the said Doctorate of Medicine (D.M.) or Magister of Chiruguie (M.Ch.) shall be counted towards requirement of teaching experience.
Note 3 : Teaching experience in any other post like the post of General Duty Medical Officer or Medical Officer shall not be considered for eligibility purpose for recruitment to teaching posts. Note 4 : Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the ICMR for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Note 5: The qualifications regarding experience are relaxable at the discretion of the ICMR, for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection the ICMR is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
5. Age limit: Not exceeding forty years. (Relaxation, if applicable, will be given in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the ICMR from time to time )
6. General conditions:
– No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the interview.
– The candidates called for personal discussion/interview have the option to answer in Hindi or English.
– The candidates should be of sound health. Selected candidates will have to produce a fitness certificate from Medical Board.
– Any dispute with regard to the recruitment against the advertisement will be under the jurisdiction of New Delhi Court.
– The candidates may please note that in respect of the posts notified for reserved categories, only the candidates belonging to the concerned category will be eligible to appear for Walk in Interview.
