Teaching Faculty Positions – Assistant Professor (Full-Time)

MPSC, Imphal invites applications from eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in the following departments:

Educational Qualifications

1. Essential Qualification

  • Master’s Degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the relevant subject from a recognized Indian university OR an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

2. Additional Requirements

  • Candidate must have cleared NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by UGC such as SET/SLET.

  • OR candidates awarded a Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations (2009/2016 and amendments) are exempted from NET/SET, subject to the following conditions:

Ph.D. Exemption Criteria (For registrations prior to 11 July 2009)

The Ph.D. must fulfil:

  1. Awarded in regular mode only

  2. Thesis evaluated by at least two examiners

  3. Open viva voce conducted

  4. Two research papers published from Ph.D. work (minimum one in a refereed journal)

  5. Two conference/seminar presentations based on Ph.D. research (UGC/ICSSR/CSIR-funded or equivalent)

Certification of the above must be issued by the Registrar/Dean (Academic Affairs) of the concerned university.

NET/SET Exemption

  • Not required for disciplines in which NET/SET is not conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar bodies.

Ph.D. from Top Global Universities

Ph.D. holders from foreign universities ranked within the Top 500 as per:

  • Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)

  • Times Higher Education (THE)

  • Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU – Shanghai)
    are also eligible.

Pay Scale

  • PB-3: ₹15,600 – 39,100 + AGP ₹6,000
