IISER Kolkata Non-Teaching Recruitment 2025: Deputation-Based Vacancies in Education Sector

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata, an institute of national importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released its official recruitment notification (Advt. No.: IISER-K/Admn./NT-Rec./2025/07 dated 17-07-2025). The institute invites applications for Deputy Registrar, Group ‘A’ administrative and Executive Engineer (Electrical) posts on deputation (short-term contract) basis.

This recruitment drive is open to eligible officials from Central/State Government departments, autonomous bodies, universities, and public sector undertakings.

Eligibility Criteria

🔹 Deputy Registrar

  • Qualification: Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years as Assistant Registrar in Pay Level 10 or equivalent in a recognized government or academic institution.

  • Desirable:

    • Knowledge of ERP, governance portals, procurement regulations, RTI/legal handling.

    • Familiarity with service rules and policies governing higher education/research institutions.

🔹 Executive Engineer (Electrical)

  • Qualification: First-class Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience:

    • 10 years as Assistant Engineer (Pay Level 7 or above) or

    • 5 years as Assistant Executive Engineer (Pay Level 10 or above) in reputed Govt. or PSU institutions handling building projects.

  • Desirable: Experience with HVAC systems installation, operation, and maintenance.

  • Educational and experience certificates

  • Certificate by the employer/cadre controlling authority

  • Proof of age and employment status

Important Instructions

  • Selection will be based on screening and interviews as decided by IISER Kolkata.

  • Deputation will initially be for 3 years, extendable up to 5 years.

  • The institute reserves the right to modify/cancel the recruitment process.
